I would hope that's a standard shove for you whenever you're calling with 77 there. You're certainly not calling with odds to hit a set or overpair, that sort of flop is about as good as you can hope for.

Oh most def. I used to shove that preflop a lot, but now that my game had gotten better, I play it like that. It just so happened the previous time I made this play I actually did hit a set vs top pair and the guy had a fit.

A check raise there is a good semi-bluff against a better player. You're calling a big bet pf out of position...after a check raise a lot of players will put you on a top pocket pair or AJ and will fold. I don't have the balls to do that often though.

Well, I'm back. My first experience playing live games in a professional setting or whatever was not particularly a good one; both because of shit I did wrong but especially because of a few hands that were seriously retarded...

I played 2 SNGs and finished on the bubble both times (first not to cash). That was really fine with me, because I did really stupid fucking things both times I busted out thus I blame myself. My ability to assess the situations like I would have been able to online was for some reason very fucked. The first SNG though I'm pretty happy with - I got NOTHING for cards. The best hand I got all game was A9o when I was already shorted, and had to shove against a pair of 9s.

The retarded hand was at a 1-2 NL ring game where I raised with 1 behind and 2 to act to $10 with AQo. I got one call, flop comes A29, I check, he's all in...what does he have? 29o. Nice 10 call preflop, guy...

The rest of the time I just dicked around on the 2-4 and 1-2 limit tables. I think I either broke even over all or just barely made any cash on those. A lot of hands I would have went up big on were equally as fucking retarded as calling a raise with 2,9o; one example was at a 2-4 table where I was sitting one back from the button with 6s, was raised to 8, I called and the small blind called...Flop comes 8,6,8. Lol. Okay so I check raise this old lady who CLEARLY has an 8...and yeah, basically she rivered me with a goddamned 4 for 8s full. I think the most frustrating thing about not taking that pot down was the rest of the time she was at the table she slowly dwindled away until she busted out. It seemed like, no matter what the limits at the table were, there was always somebody there playing the shittiest of hands just looking for the big winner and fucking up my day. Some other gems I got knocked off the pot on were J2o, 7,3s, etc etc.

I think I'll just play online for a while. That left abit of a bad taste in my mouth...

Oh, and the tourneys were 80-20. And the blinds were 15 minutes. It was a very comfortable setting; I just wish I could have taken advantage of it from what I was dealt, but goddamn, I ran into Ks twice.

The best part of that whole experience was seeing the cops take out 2 dudes; one for trespassing and one for swiping chips. The last guy they basically opened the side doors with his head. lol.

Bet the pot preflop with 2 callers

Flop comes J 9 5

I bet weak, get raised big and call

Get a 5 on the turn, I check raise then the other guy goes all in

He has 9's over 5's to my J's over 5's

River comes.....it's a FUCKING 9



This next hand came 10 minutes after that ^ hand...

I had AA and the other guy had a QQ (he told me his hand after the hand was finished)

He raised and I reraise

Harmless flop...He checks and I raise big

Then the fucking power goes out because of the fucking storm

I came back to see that I had a fifth of my stack left

He had reraised me all in and I couldn't call
