Hot diggity, this primer is covering stuff pretty well. Part of my ceiling is gonna be white now but... OK it looks 800x better than having a 40" by 12" water spot with multiple brown and funny looking spots on your ceiling. It'll look 80000000000000x better when I get the new light fixture.

Oh HELL YES this can of primer was worth it. That ceiling looks amazing now. Once those hole patches dry out I'll be able to see just how fucked the ceiling is.

$5 can of kilz and me removing the light fixture, plus me patching up the holes with a $6 jar of spackle which will last for many many repairs. My solution's total cost is about $6, plus the cost of a new light fixture.

The insurance company budgeted $690 (minus $500 deductable) for us to have the entire ceiling in this part of the apartment repainted, and to have somebody come take down and clean and reattach the OLD light fixture.

I like my solution much better. I've also just discovered that none of the drywall at the joints in the ceiling of this apartment was ever taped together. It was all just attached and expected to hang properly... Fail fail fail fail...
