Just picked up a copy of Professional No-Limit Hold 'Em after a bunch of recommendations from 2p2'ers telling me it was the quintessential cash game book.
I have to say, this book has a lot more depth and presents some cool new concepts that i've not seen in any other books...definitely recommend it...

Found our answer... So now you know to avoid check by mail/courier at all costs.
Thank you for contacting Bodog Customer Service.
Due to unforeseen circumstances with one of our check providers, we have recently stopped using Check by Mail as one of our payout methods. All of our clients who have recently requested Check by Mail are now having their payout sent by Check by Courier. Because of this, we are experiencing delays for all of our clients who have requested payment by check. Please note that this is not normal procedure, and is only temporary. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience.
Please note that Check by Courier payouts now take an average of 40 business days to be delivered. Once we receive a tracking number for this payout it will be both emailed to your email address on file and posted in your Bodog account messages.
Should you require further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Best Regards,
Customer Service

So I'm a little bored with playing 1 or 2 tables at a time of 25NL and only grinding out $50-$100 per week, and am wondering what I should be doing differently. My BR is about $200 after a bunch of small cashouts, so apparently I should really only be playing 10NL as of now, but it seems too sporadic at such low limits. Are there any "must have" programs (such as PT3) that I should go ahead and get? What are the most profitable SNGs and ways to play ring games (should I be MTing low limits?)? Seems like most people that try to make a decent amount of money playing online MT 6+ tables at once and play pretty much like a bot. I'm playing at a fairly high level now, just need some advice on how to maximize profit playing online. 7/18/2008 6:59:02 PM |

Well with the blinds creeping up, I felt like after I called the reraise I pretty much pot committed myself. Only reason I didn't push after his reraise PF was because I figured he'd call with just about anything, so I might as well try to get a look at the flop and possibly get off it. 7/19/2008 6:29:31 PM |

With that stacking and blind level nearly 90% of the time I'm putting it all in pre even to the donk ass 3 bet he put out there
Post flop play is so limited in these situations and with the payout of the 4 dollars this is the exact point where u would love to double or be done and load up another. 7/19/2008 9:25:59 PM |

maybe you were committed, but check flop imo and at least give him a chance to bet at you/pay you off on turn with worse hand. i mean what exactly are you hoping to be called with that you beat? what exactly are you hoping to fold that beats you?
i'm not blaming you for going all the way here, but maybe try to do it in a way that increases the hands you actually beat in an all in showdown.

Night 1 Borgata I'm up ~130 at some point and leave the table at the end of the night with 16 bucks
Day 2 Tropicana I flop AJ top two vs QQ and take down a sizable pot, then later on I flop trips and call an all in where the guy has top pair queen kick.
I leave up 300 (bought in for 200) for the trip.
Last night at the Borgata I buy in for 200 and don't play many hands, call a couple raises and i'm down to ~175 when I look down in BB at KK. One call early position, middle makes it like 12 to go. I mean to bet more but it only comes out as like double raise, 25 to go or some such. Dude pushes all in and has me covered. I instacall and the flop is all baby cards. turn comes and I say "you have the aces?" which he must have thought I asked "you have the 8s?" because he's says he has it. River is an Ace and I muck the kings to his turned set :/
being up 60 bucks never felt so bad.

Haha. Didn't realize hand history captures the chat. I don't think it does that on FT. Yeah it is good. They are owned by the PF Chang people. 7/20/2008 2:49:53 PM |
