i'll give it a go

the episode opens with clark and lana out on the crater lake beach. lois and chloe walk up and we get a really nice shot of lois in a bikini...(with many more shots to come later).
lois goes and dives into the lake. clark and chloe notice that she doesn't come out of the lake. chloe tells clark to go investigate. clark dives into the water to try and save lois but some other guy beats him to the punch. Clark notices that he swims really really fast. the guy pulls lois out of the water and gives her CPR until she comes to. We find out his name is Arthur Curry, but call him AC for short. Clark doesn't trust him b/c he seems really shady and he can obviously swim fast.
Lois and AC go back to the lake to swim and we get a shot of some sort of underwater device making a sound. Only AC can hear it and it makes him cringe in pain and makes his ears bleed.
We find out that it belongs to Lex and it is a prototype military weapon that emits some sort of frequency underwater that can destroy ships, submarines..etc... but the downside is that it also kills sea life. We discover that Lex is on the verge of demo-ing it for the pentagon so they may buy it from him.
AC breaks into a lab and plants some C4 explosives on the device to try and blow it up. Clark follows him and tears off the C4 and cradles over it while it blows up. He confronts AC about it. AC tells him that is a luthercorp device that harms sea-life, etc.. and they need to team up to destroy it. Clark says they should confront Lex about it first. They go and confront Lex in the Luthor Mansion and Lex of course does not give in. AC storms out and we see him at the Lake getting ready to go back to the lab but he gets shot with a poison dart. The next scene opens with him restrained in the lab and Lex is torturing him by not giving him water. Lex wants to know how he can swim so fast but AC doesn't give in. Lex does not give him water and AC is suffering and gasping for air. Lex has to leave the room b/c he is getting ready to demo the device for the military guys. The device is codenamed Laviatherm. While Lex is gone Clark shows up and gives AC water...AC breaks out of the restraints and together they go destroy the device. The military guys see that the device doesn't work (b/c it is busted) and they leave angry.
At the end Clark goes to see Lex and Lex says that the device was destroyed due to the work of 2 vandals. (He doesn't explicitly say that it was Clark and AC, but it is implied that he has an idea who did it).
AC and Clark are talking in the barn at the end and AC says that they should team up and start a junior lifeguard association and Clark says he isn't ready to join the JLA just yet. AC says that when someone messes with his home (underwater) then he has to do something about it. He says he is leaving and Clark tells him just to stay out of trouble. AC leaves.
The last scene shows Clark and Lois in the barn and Lois says that she meets so many guys who want to own the world but it was nice meeting one who actually wanted to save it. And Clark tells her that he is sure she will meet someone even more special down the road.

I forgot to mention that there was a sidestory in the episode. We see Clark going into his class at Cental A&M and his professor (the guy from the spaceship) is talking about Lex. He says to be careful of people like Lex and Clark defends Lex...he says that Lex may not be a saint, but he isn't in the same class of people as Hitler, stalin, etc...
The professor says that he is doing research to expose the truth behind Luthercorp but Clark says he isn't interested.
At the end of the episode (after Clark finds out that Lex was developing that weapon, etc...) he goes back to the professor and tells him he was right about Lex...And he wants to be the professor's research assistant. The professor tells him that he has to be on time to class, smart, and something else and CLark agrees. So now Clark is involved in researching Luthercorp to expose the truth.
I think I covered everything.
Ma and Pa Kent were not in the episode at all.

nm, he just posted a summary.

One thing you might wanna add is that the professor seems really smart, he memorized the names and faces of all the students in the class.

yeah...when clark walked into the lecture late, the professor was giving a lecture and he said, "the world's largest supercomputer is right here" and pointed to the brain.
but he said we only use 10% of the brain...
then at the end he knew Clark by name and Clark asked him how he knew it and he said it was b/c at orientation all the students got pictures taken and he just took the time to memorize all the students names in his classes

^I think the idea was that most people know that college classrooms (especially freshman ones) have lots of people. It would be pretty impressive to memorize all the names and be able to put them to a face almost instantaneously. It's going along with the whole Professor = Brainiac thing.

did clark actually have a say in that deal? i know he was already "dead," but i can't imagine he'd willingly let someone die to get his powers back

Even if the class was small, I doubt it would be the only one that he would teach -- why would he go to the trouble of learning everyone in that class' name/face and not any of his others. Unless he knows that Clark is Kal-El and just told him that he memorized all that stuff.

I figured the professor knew about Clark/Kal-El/his powers
especially since he came out of the spaceship
i still don't understand it...why is "brainiac" there?

I think his plan in the original comics was to travel from planet to planet 'absorbing' their knowledge and shrinking the planet to add to his 'collection.' Who knows what the WB has done with it though.

I enjoyed the Lex vs. Brainiac trying to outwit each other bit. I'd say Brainiac is pwning Lex right now. I know it's unfair because he is what he is but it's cool to see two villains bickering.

What I find more interesting is how by the time Lois Lane and Clark Kent start working at the Daily Planet, Lois will have known Clark for years (knowing exactly what he looks like without glasses on). Same for Lex. I guess they are gonna have to introduce some kind of stupid memory wipe thing.

not that the glasses alone ever really concealed his identity. i mean seriously what kind of disguise is a pair of glasses???

if they were to continue the series where clark kent becomes superman i'll bet instead his identity will have already been revealed to lois and lex

Well it isn't just the glasses that are his disguise. The Clark Kent character is his disguise. He is supposed to be a bumbling, clumsy, wimpy, and foolish (everything that Superman isn't). The idea is to make everyone in Metropolis think "He is the last person on Earth that could be Superman." Obviously the Clark Kent in the Smallville series isn't supposed to be this way, so there would have to be a definite change in character that Lois/Lex would obviously be able to pick up on.

It was my understanding that in comics, Superman had hypnotic powers that for lack of better works or explanation radiated from him that concealed his identity to those around him.

From the previews I knew it was gonna be dumb, but I at least saw the last 10 minutes or so. Jesus Christ, it was like something out of a bad fan fiction (you know, the kind that's usually written by angsty 14 year-olds?).

i thought Clark as zorro was hilarious...

and when the professor stabbed that guy I immediately thought of Terminator 2. He even kind of looks like the same actor, even though I know it isn't.

Tom Wopat is going to be in the episode this week and he will be playing Senator Jennings (tribute to Waylon Jennings no doubt) and he is going to be old friends with Mr. Kent.

The kicker is that Senator Jennings is going to be driving a 69 Dodge Charger with a "broken door mechanism"
