I tend to think that the national media blows LaRussa's dick incredibly hard, so he's a little overhyped. If you watch him manage a game, he will boggle your mind with some of the retarded switches he makes EVERY GAME. Maybe he's trying to get some guys PT before the end of the season, but I personally think he has a wierd thing going for his roster card.

I'm not trying to start anything about it. I'm just pointing out that of the people I've talked to on my trips to St. Louis, 80 percent of them are unhappy with Larussa and the rest dont know enough about baseball to comment. The one thing they all have in common is that they all love their cardinals...and they've been winning the past few years so there isnt much to bitch about.

Now I was also out there right after that horrible 2-13 streak this year...so that may have had something to do with it...but I've gotten this impression before this summer.

eh....I was at the game when Pujols hit a walkoff against the dodgers in the 14th inning. I'd argue that was better, but this was pretty damn close, and probably more significant as far as the standings and pennant race is concerned.


Everyone outside the stadium was yelling "that was awesome" or "that was fucking awesome" or "pujols is your daddy" haha ...great experience.

Amen to that, the man was absolutely dealing tonight with 8 Ks and 12 ground balls. September is such a better time for him to be unhittable than mid-June. I think him missing a few starts earlier with that shoulder inflammation can be partially thanked for his performance the last few weeks. And although the wins aren't there, I've gotta think 1st in WHIP and ERA puts him on the short list of Cy Young contenders.
