My only regret is that I have no more money to buy more V. I'm fully in the market.

I would be careful with Visa anyways.

I wish MSFT would turn it around

I think this afternoon

But didn't visa just become a recently traded company? I really think they're gonna become inflated and then have a huge correction.

Yeah, you're right. Not that it matters, but here are what the analysts think.

28-Apr-08 JP Morgan Initiated Overweight
28-Apr-08 Piper Jaffray Initiated Neutral
28-Apr-08 RBC Capital Mkts Initiated Outperform
28-Apr-08 Sun Trust Rbsn Humphrey Initiated Buy
28-Apr-08 Citigroup Initiated Hold
28-Apr-08 UBS Initiated Buy
28-Apr-08 Fox Pitt Initiated In Line

V is a long-term play. Corrections happen, but over the long run, V should go way up. At least that's my 2ยข.

I agree, I just think it will be cheaper in the future.

making that a better time to buy in.

I think as noted earlier Visa is def a good long term stock. I agree there would be better prices in the future to buy in.

That said,

Why else do you think you guys think are other long term stocks?

the thing about V is that its protected somewhat on the downside for its first 2 quarters.

in general, insiders and those associated with a given IPO are usually required to hold for 6 months after the IPO date before they can sell. plus the first quarter or two post-ipo are usually ones where the company will beat earnings expectations handily in order to justify growth valuations.

i think Goldman just put a $90 price target on them. i'm thinking we see 90 before we see 60

Just picked up some UA - with earnings coming out before the bell and their new trainers coming out May 2...I feel good about this one.

Definitely for the long term.

down about $5 after hours. V was WAY inflated leading up to the earnings report and only something like 50% growth would've justified the price. i bought in on the IPO and sold at $70 to lock in some profits, since I was expecting the pullback. wish i had waited a few more days when it ballooned to $75.

that said, good time to buy back in on the dip in the next few days. still think it is overbought in the short term, but if you have a "buy and hold" mentality, $70 will look amazing in a few years.

Sucks that it's down, but still, if you had sold a week ago you'd still have sold lower than V is right now after hours.

Should have listened to HipEgg a few days ago...

http://hipegg.blogspot.com/2008/04/mastercard-charging-new-highs.html

Quote :
"Technical Analysis: MA has a very bullish chart. After the uptrend (A) broke resistance at the $220 level, the next target is $270. During these troubling times, as long as MA stays above the newly established support (C) at $220 there is nothing to worry about. If someday the uptrend (A) is broken expect a move to support (B) at $170. So far everything is looking good for MA.

Summary: Buy."
