Bowden firing is already starting to affect their recruiting class. Holloman is gone as well as Loston. Tajh Boyd also decommitted from WVU, so I guess it tis the season.

Sam Montgomery, a 4-star DE out of Greenwood HS (SC)

Ht: 6-5 Wt: 240 40: 4.65

Quote :
"N.C. State—last but not least, N.C. State. Before anybody else came calling, they gave me my first offer. They showed interest, saw my talent and I respect that. It's in a really comfortable place and I could probably play both (football and basketball) there, too. The coaches are trying to do it right and are close to succeeding. They are seriously just a few players away."

It's great to hear recruits talk so positively about our coaching staff. They are really building a good atmosphere here.

^ and ^^ you have to read the whole article. Dude talks about 10 schools, and if you read the other nine we sound like an afterthought. Not a big deal, but this dude is not going to be wearing red and white any time soon. Its a funny article though, he gives shoutouts, talks about miami being his team on madden, and a bunch of other funny shit. he is definitely a talker!!!

Yeah Montgomery makes it sound like we're only included because we were the first to offer. We probably won't survive his first cut. But this isn't a TOB type of kid, he seems to be enjoying the spotlight and media way too much.

Hot damn. Give us a few years, and we could have the best Oline in the league with Mattes, Wallace, Jones, Good, Allen, and (gulp) Nixon.

Video interview with Jheranie Boyd. He will be making his decision on Nov. 7th. He mentions that he got to hang out with Glennon and some others and that those are the type of guys that he likes to hang out with. It also shows two of our coaches (I think McCollum and Reed) watching his games, along with some other coaches from Clemson and another school.

Also you have to factor in that Texas Tech doesn't run an offense that NFL teams run. A lot of elite level WRs want to go to schools that have offenses that will prepare them for what they will see in the NFL.

3* ATH/S Jairus Jones from Tampa, FL has popped up on the prospect list and it looks like we are one of the schools on his list that receives a visit. His father James Jones was a running back at Florida and later in the NFL with the Detroit Lions. Surprisingly though the Gators have not offered and now lists them as "Low Interest" even though one recent article from earlier in the month said he was hoping for an offer from them. Currently he has 4 visits in mind and only has LSU, Michigan State, Nebraska, and NC State listed as "Medium Interest". Scout ranks him as the #80 safety nationally while Rivals lists him as the #64 athlete nationally. ESPN ranks him as the #39 safety nationally.

According to ESPN, 2010 DT Louis Nix has been offered by Florida, Miami, Tennessee, and NC State. Nix is on the ESPN 150 Watch List.

Quote :
"Four early offers for 2010 DT Louis Nix

ESPNU 150 Watch List junior Louis Nix is already holding scholarship offers from Florida, Miami-FL, Tennessee and N.C. State, according to affiliate Web site InsideTheU.com.
However, no school has jumped out in front for Nix just yet, "There is a lot of options out there right now and I can't really say that I have a favorite. I do want to get the recruiting process over early, but I still want to look at all my options before I make a decision.""

Quote :
"O’Neal gets N.C. State offer

The Newsome defense is hitting on all cylinders these days and the solid play of senior defensive tackle Conor O'Neal is one of the big reasons why. N.C. State has taken notice. On Tuesday afternoon, Newsome coach Kenneth Hiscock confirmed that the Wolfpack had offered O'Neal a scholarship earlier in the day. It is the 6-foot-3, 295-pounder's first offer to date, but probably won't be his last. Buffalo, FAU, FIU and USF also are showing interest. O'Neal plays on the offensive and defensive lines at Newsome, but projects to be a defensive tackle in college."

Quote :
"Under Armour All-American Jheranie Boyd will make his commitment Thursday Nov. 6th during a school pep rally, according to the Gaston Gazette.

Illinois, Missouri, North Carolina, N.C. State and Oklahoma are the finalists for the nation's No. 5-rated wide receiver.

^^I've noticed that too. UNC players just seem to have UNC names for the most part. Sure we have a few (Shea McKeen, Audi Augustin), but it's weird how you can usually read a guys name and know whether he plays for state or carolina. Examples include:

Hakeem Nicks, Brooks Foster, Quan Sturdivant, Cooter Arnold, Richie Rich, Shaun Draughn, Ray Ray Davis, AJ Blue, etc etc etc
