^^ ehh, if you say so. You flat out said that the werewolves aren't that much less powerful than the vampires. I strongly disagree if you're talking about werewolves on the show in general. I used a lot of the same info. you used to point out how close they were to point out how far they were from each other. And I'm not talking about "supernatural power" or even strength necessarily, which maybe you are. I just mean more powerful as in "who wins in a fight" - so maybe a poor choice of words from me.

In that sense:
avg. vampire >>>> avg. werewolves** (plural because we saw 1 avg. vampire take on multiple avg. werewolves). again, he didn't even hesitate, and probably could have out ran them if he wanted.

** i'm not even sure those were average werewolves. The ones Bill fought had the same symbol branded on them as the "nazi" werewolf. The same symbol that made Eric concerned and tipped him off that these are an organized, well trained, V fueled group of werewolves.

How bad ass can they be if Bill completely dominated 5 of them? Bill, as far as we know, is just an average vampire. If that symbol is the mark of the "elite" werewolf... Even theydidn't seem nearly as powerful as a vampire who was ready for them. But they may have just been foot soldiers or throwaways (mercenaries?) from this werewolf organization.

And yeah, Eric got knocked down by the woman. But, he was also being a little naive. He had no problem with her before she drank from him. Godric (who, granted, is very powerful) killed her VERY easily by utilizing his speed. But maybe there's a much more elite sub-group of them. Perhaps whoever fights Eric? Although like I said, it looked to me like Sookie accidentally shot eric. Which may explain why he's on the ground, seemingly losing in the preview.

My two cents on the werewolves...they are inferior to vampires strength wise normally (maybe there's an exception here and there to training, age, whatever). However any werewolf hopped up on vampire blood would be stronger from that alone. That additional strength prolly has a lot to do with what kind of vampire blood they are hopped up on--an older vampire having stronger blood and a younger vampire being weaker. I'm pretty sure that's been suggested through the various V dealings we see Lafayette doing.

So...the werebitch was able to take Eric by surprise (and yes he was naive) in the flashback b/c she had just injested his blood making her more of an equal match. The wolves we see Bill tear apart had been feeding on him, but that was the night before...so if they hadn't fed on any sort of vampire blood since they would be a weaker match from just being inferior alone.

Good episode (just finished it).

The vampire at the bar that broke into someone's house. How did he break in if he wasn't invited into the house?

I was always under the impression that Werewolves protected vampires while they slept during the day. I think i remember hearing this from a Van Helsing movie.

He broke in to a vampire's home (Bill's) not a human's. Rules of invitation do not apply.

Well I don't know, but that was clearly his house

We've seen his front door, foyer, staircase and sitting room plenty of times that I thought it pretty obvious that it was bill's house

well yes, i'm not disagreeing that it's Bill's house, especially since the dead body is missing and the clips from next week allude to that vampire having something to do with the body being missing (which places him in Bill's house) - i just can't figure out why he'd have so many things from Sookie's childhood hidden in a drawer.

^^ I could tell you but it would be a HUGE spoiler (as long as it's the same reason as the book, which may not the case).

i'm sure someone would think that i have secretly read the books and am just trying to spill the beans. i have only read Book 1 so i'm totally in the dark with all this stuff. i mean, i know the general direction they're going, but i'm still hella confused about a few big things. and i want to discuss the things i'm confused about, but i don't want to cause problems...so i'll wait til someone else posts their theories.

I'd say it could be very spoilerish depending on how much of it she guessed right. I didn't see the post, so I don't know what all she said.

Keep in mind this show is based on a series of books. And while I've been told some things are very different, some things are the same or are from the books but changed. From what I know, this is something that is also in the books. It would suck if someone who is reading the books and may have some insight that we don't, even if they haven't gotten to that part yet, took a really good guess based on those insights and spoiled the not so obvious stuff in the show.

And I think this specific topic has been brought up itt before, maybe during season 1 or 2. So it could even be that some people have that in the back of their mind. And fwiw, the people i'm aware of who read/have read the books and post itt have been very good about not posting spoilers. I think a couple of things came up during season 1 or so, but that talk was dropped pretty quickly and i think another thread was created to discuss the books vs the show.

I think from the show it's obvious that Bill had done some research on Sookie or that someone else did and gave him that info. I mean, he had a folder full of article's on her going back to her childhood. The question is WHY does he have that stuff. I'm not sure how good of a guess someone can really take regarding the "why" from what we know exclusively from the show.

I think we have a good idea who told Bill to look into Sookie. The King of Mississippi seems to know too because he alluded to it in their conversatinos.

All he said was that they might have to bring in the girl... I took that to mean they would use her to force bill into doing what they wanted.

From the stuff in the drawer, it seems like Bill specifically moved to Bon Temps to get close to Sookie. Maybe he knew someone in his own time who had the same gift, because it looked like he was tracing the family tree down.

That's my guess anyhoo...

^^You don't remember the King suggesting/accusing Bill of working for the Queen? "Why'd she take one of her best vamps and move him to Bon Temps of all places? And let him date a waitress?"

The King was suggesting that the Queen wasn't good at her job for letting Bill (a really good strong vampire) move to Bon Temps and date a waitress and "acclimate into society" or whatever. But I suspect she's better at her job than the King thinks. And I think Bill was lying through his fangs.

My guess is the Queen is the one who sent Bill to Bon Temps with a very specific agenda involving a certain human who has certain magical mystical powers.

yeah i agree 100%

IF that is where they're going, it throws a HUGE plot twist into the Bill - Sookie dynamic.

although i could see her finding out and him claiming to actually be in love with her / proving his love for her even though it started as a farce.

On another topic.. how come a certain human hasn't used her certain magical mystical powers yet

This may have been mentioned and I missed it, but don't you think it's weird that sookie hasn't used her power at all in the first 2 episodes?

yeah, the twisting the head around was ridiculous. it looked stupid and was retarded.

I'm already losing interest in the werewolves. They need to make them more bad ass or cut out the dialogue about them presenting a challenge to vampires. They've been nothing more than a nuisance so far.

Yeah, this show is going downhill super fast.

I do like the idea that Bill is actually some sort of badguy spy sent to seduce/capture Sookie for her powers and Eric is actually a good guy though.

Can we reiterate how annoying Tara is again? At least her mom wasn't in this episode.

And what was with Eric giving Lafayette that car?

Did anyone catch what kind of car that was? I was trying to figure it out, but didn't catch a good glimpse. A Maserati maybe?

twisting Lorena's head didn't bother me nearly as much as Bill not unbuckling his damn pants before he hate fucked her...
Franklin and Tara "getting lost in the void"? wth?! sigh...
and I already mentioned the were fight...lame

I did not love this episode, but there were a few moments and lines that made me laugh preventing me from completely shitting on it. Eric patting the top of the graveside wreath before he walked off...Bud describing the murders as crab grass...Jason being Jason "when you're drunk?"...Franklin and the head

But the King is definitely my favorite new character.

Haha Bud quitting was hilarious.

The ending made me laugh because it was so absurd.

The werewolves seem to be nothing more than day protectors of vampires (Hounds of Hell ala Thorn in Lost Boys, haha), so the fights have been letdowns. Though I did like the werewolf bar scene, and the name "Lou Pine's".

The Tara side-story is dumb, but that's about right for her and the Sam side story is getting boring too.

^ I forgot about Bud quitting. That was pretty good.

i laughed so loud at the end (at the neck thing) that my roommate came out of his room and asked me what i was watching.

the bar fight scene would have been a good chance for them to show how "nasty" or ferocious the werewolves are. You know... since they keep saying that's the case. But nope, I've seen more violent fights between 14yr olds.

And Sookie's approach in the bar was also dumb. i want this show to be good... but there is a lot of stupid going on in a lot of ways.

go back and watch the first couple of episodes and they show so much more edge to it. It makes you remember why it's on HBO and not a CBS/ABC night time drama (which is what it felt like the other night).
