If Greenville gets 8 inches of snow. . .we're all going to die. Semi-costal folks don't know how to deal with snow and ice.

Not right now though because we finally had two days in a row of 40+ which wiped out all of the snow. Fear not though, it's still January and more snow is assuredly on the way.

Jeeez I never get the crazies who go buy a bunch of stuff. It always melts in 2 days. Wouldn't you normally already have food for the next 2-3 days?

^luckily, us semi-coastal folks have Raleigh to take notes from on how to handle wintry situations (see the half-inch ice storm of 2005).

New Bern area still looking strong in all the predictions. Bring it on!

Is there some kind of stupidity gene that prevents inhabitants of Greenville from just staying the fuck inside for 1 1/2 days?

i'm pretty new to this area, is it safe to assume that most people here have no clue in hell how to drive in the snow? i guess i'll be taking the bus until it's less slick... don't want some hillbilly in his lift kit truck to smack into me thinking he's invincible

One of my favorite activities is watching fwd Civics with snow tires completely demolish 4wd trucks/suvs on 70 out in Colorado. No matter how big a truck or suv you have a fwd Fiat will still kick your ass if they've got the proper tires.

Doubt anyone in NC would have snow tires on their daily driver. Even "all season" tires suck compared to snow tires.

welp. at least i take good care of my car and have new tires. bring it on. the bus drivers are scared of the snow too huh?

and I'm from IL and even though we get snow (sometimes heavy) pretty regularly, I've never seen anyone with snow tires.

They're everywhere in Colorado and Minnesota. I've seen them elsewhere as well. Do you actually know what they look like? They look very similar to regular tires...

Maybe that person is thinking of chains?

But plenty of people have snow tires up there.

Ya actually I was thinking of chains. Maybe I'm alone. I've never used snow tires before. Have I been missing out?
