Quote : | "Last week, the club signed a five-year kit deal with American sports clothing manufacturer Under Armour, and the company has confirmed that it is planning to include its “E39” technology in the shirts. It is comprised of sensors that send second-by-second updates on everything from a player’s heart rate to core body temperature, breathing rate and acceleration. Smartphones and laptops receive the data so that coaching staff can monitor players’ fitness and performance during training and matches. The Baltimore-based company, which is understood to have signed a deal with Tottenham Hotspur worth £10?million a season, also wants to share the information with broadcasters. That would give fans unprecedented access to players’ athletic performance and even state of mind during key moments in a match. Mark Dowley, Under Armour’s executive vice president, said: “We can metrically tell you what is happening to the body of somebody kicking a penalty in front of 60,000 people." |

That's pretty cool, from a technological standpoint, but also an invasion of privacy.
Not sure Bale's going to want the world to know that he gets an erection and his heart rate goes through the roof when a fan holds up a banana. 3/13/2011 1:19:11 AM |

holy shit Spurs have been unlucky with their draws - if they beat Madrid, they have to beat Barcelona to get to the final.
Chelsea-United? snooooooooooooze but at least one English team will be eliminated. Glad there's no shot at being a Madrid-Barca final too, that would have been hyped to death

I knew it!
I see us getting slaughtered at the Bernabeau in the first leg barring a Bale miracle hat trick or something else of the sort. However, if they can somehow get back to WHL with a draw or down just a goal things may get interesting. This team is definitely capable of grinding out a result at home.
Who knows though, anything is possible. That's why they play the games instead of just handing the trophy to the best club on paper.
Whatever happens, it's been a great run.

Wonder if that game would have been any different had Bale been healthy? Wales had no support out wide when they would finally win possession. Ramsey is incredible, I can't wait for him to come back full force for Arsenal. I can't imagine how different this season might have been had his leg not been broken last year.
I don't follow Russia much, but it seems like they have slipped severely in recent years. Not qualifying for WC2010 and 0-0 today to Armenia. I don't think they are short on talent, definitely not the strongest squad in Europe but they looked to be on the back foot most of the time I checked in on their game today. 3/26/2011 9:53:58 PM |

Yeah Bale in the lineup helps, but they still lose that game 2-0 with or without him.
Speaking of him, the injury was thought to be a tear initially but it is only tightness and he should be ready to roll for Madrid. 3/27/2011 10:38:19 AM |

Yeah, that was a bad penalty from Adam. Brazil had a handball penalty waved off too. Neymar should have a hattrick.
Kind of impressed with some of Scotland's players though. There was a 20 minute span before Adam gave the penalty where they were passing well and taking it to Brazil a bit.
