Although, and I don't know if this makes me a bad State fan, but I don't really hate Duke all that much. I mean, I pull for them over any other ACC team (except for State). I still consider Duke to be a primary rival and wouldn't mind them getting knocked off their high horse for a bit, but I'm not as excited about NCAA penalties at Duke when compared to UNCheat.

^I'm not looking to pull for duke but all my hatred is purely directed at Carolina. My only feelings on duke really are that anything good for them drives carolina mad so thats about it.

I don't care for duke, and take pleasure in most of their losses. I thought their loss to LeHigh was hilarious. But uf they make it to the final four, i'll usually pull for them, depending on who they're playing b/c... ACC. But I strongly dislike UNC, and will always pull against them.

The enemy of my enemy is my friend. I don't pull for them on a regular basis, but if its a game UNC fans will get butt hurt over if Duke wins (final four games, acc tourney games, etc.) I'll pull for them just to see the UNC fans get pissed off. (and yes I know UNC fans are usually butt hurt for other reasons)

^^that's part of it (enemy of my enemy). I also just don't care for any other ACC basketball team more than Duke (again, other than State).

For Duke-UNC basketball games I root for:

1. The building to collapse
2. A blowout one way or the other
3. The visiting team

For football I root for Duke.

I would add a heart-wrenching defeat for the home team, e.g. Rivers' 3-point buzzer beater in CH was the tops.

The problem with that is it adds fuel to the media frenzy hyping the game. I don't want the UNC-Duke matchup to be a can't miss game of the year. Actually UNC's stomping of Duke at Cameron was far better in my opinion.

I don't know why people have a problem with Duke really. All the people who actually go to Duke that I've met are actually pretty nice, down-to-earth people. Many UNC students on the other hand just exude a holier than thou snobbishness. I'll pull for Duke any day of the week as long as they're not facing State.

I can't even compare the two. Duke is actually a great school. UNC is not. Duke's fans are rich assholes mostly, sure, but UNCs fans are inbred retards.

I don't like Duke, but I cheer for them against UNC 100% of the time.

During the off-season I don't give a shit about Duke bball. In fact, I'll even halfway convince myself that I don't mind them. And then the season starts and I remember exactly how much I hate Duke. Still, it's an easy decision for me to root for Duke over UNC.

I feel that the more hyped either of those teams gets the better it is for us. We're hurt recruiting wise being so close to those programs no matter what, but the national coverage when they play us gets our name out there as well. Especially if we continue to improve and start beating them on a semi-regular basis, and always on national television, then there is nothing but gain for NCSU.

Don't worry, if thorp resigns you nc taxpayers will be funding a nice little severance package for him, just like all the other guilty parties in this mess.
