Why? We have a very solid backline, and they do a great job of both defending by committee and spreading minutes. In a seven D system, there's no need for a big name rock to anchor the tough situations.

Also, we'll have Jack Johnson next year.

today's blues game is a sellout, according to puck_it

due to some military appreciation day or something

cheapest seat available is 57 bucks, 37 after $20 student discount for lower level

Will Johnson be ready to leave Michigan after this year, though? He says he plans to stay for four years, but "everything is subject to change". I took that to mean "with the right money I'm there", but I wouldn't be surprised if he plays another year at Michigan.

I hope he's not staying for 4 years, because I think the Canes only own his rights for 3 years. After that, he can back into the draft.

^^ Well, I don't think there's any way in hell he would stay for four years, but I don't think two is out of the question.

HAT TRICK FOR STAAL!

Per John Deere Hat Day tradition, a hat trick is scored, and thousands of the hats given away litter the ice.

Ok...lets remember, canes fans are only allowed to panic when down MORE then 2 goals. 2 goals has been the magic number for our team. we've come back and won after down by 2 goals more times then i can remember.

was the hat trick natural?

Fairly easy, I'd bet.

For that matter, from the recap, it sounds like he only broke it. That shouldn't be hard to fix.

Storr's only up because Esche is hurt, and hasn't played a single minute. There's no way Hitch won't play Niitty against the other top team in the East.
