it's not a system war because PS3 owners really don't give a shit about the 360 or the wii

see, the xbox owners are pissed that their first console failed and their second console in an unreliable piece of shit with a couple of good games

thus they have to come here and shit on the PS3

the wii owners are happy they got hold of one, but get bored easily as minigames only last for so long before they get old. those that don't go play trading card games wander in here and wait for someone to say anything about the wii

and then they shit on the PS3

personally, i want to own all three...but I won't buy a 360 until everything gets fixed and I won't buy a wii until there are some decent games on it

My friend rented them both and did a hdmi switch on his 52" lcd to compare the 360/ps3 versions. The 360 version is defin noticibly smoother, but you're ONLY able to tell when you have the two consoles next to each other, or switching back and forth. I'd imagine it'd be hard to tell just by looking at one or the other. Although after playing it on the 360 for a while, it looked choppy and the graphics weren't as nice going to the ps3. For practical purposes it really doesn't matter. I'm more used to the ps3 controller so it was a little easier on the ps3. I've had less experience with the 360. I guess if you're ocd bout it, get the 360 version.

Look at the players....when they do an upclose shot of them. It looks good, dont get me wrong, I just dont think it looks as pristine as the 360 demo.

^Yeah there's defin a difference in the model detail. Sitting on a couch far from the tv i'm sure you'd rarely be able to tell a difference though.

It would just be stupid for a new Twisted Metal to not come out for the PS3. TM is one of the top 5 franchises for PS, maybe even #1, and it has sold like hotcakes on all the other systems. Would be a bad move if it wasn't being worked on. All I know is that I want it BAD.

^^208 released XBox 360 games, 110 released PS3 games. 98 total games more and *1* AAA title. I will never understand why people seem to think the 360 has such a huge advantage in number of games available. It just doesn't exist. The argument should be that the PS3 is $200 more and doesn't offer anything more in terms of gaming over the 360, not that the 360's library is wildly superior.

Anyone played Ninja Gaiden Sigma yet? 60fps at 1080p looks amazingggggggg. Gamespy.com gave it 5/5 stars and the screens on there are crazy looking. I need to get it.

Look, I'm not gonna comment on your opinion. All I'll say is that almost every game in that list also appears on the PC, has a sequel that appears on both consoles, or is on the PS3 (The Darkness and NCAA 2008). Besides that, like I said before, I'm talking about AAA titles here. Save for Gears of War, none of those titles alone or together is going to swing anyone's opinion when trying to decide between the 2 consoles, especially considering the upcoming lineup for both consoles. It all comes back to price. You can already look at the dramatic effect the price cut has had on PS3 sales for the past week (up almost 300%), meaning gamers do want it, they just weren't willing to pay $600 for it. I mean hell, people are buying Wii and it doesn't have shit for games. It's all about price.

Yeah well I'll concede that that has a big part to do with it.

I don't think the 'it also appears on PC' argument holds little water, b/c its freaking Microsoft - many games will appear on PC too. Especially b/c it's MS. Doesn't mean it's any less of a feather in the cap of the console that gives it an exclusive home in your living room ya know?

And I will concede that Gears is prolly the only real crux game, like a real 'killer app'. I'd argue that Dead Rising is too (that's the game I bought the 360 for) - It's not everyone's bag....but it's a great fucking game, very original. Oh, and I left Forza and DiRT off of the list ,but they are incredible...

My problem and most of the problems that the 360 people have against Sony is that Sony's management has been sneaky, underhanded, and generally pompous in this generation cycle. There's no arguing that. And at least me as a 360 fan is disappointed b/c I love my PS2. Trust me, I WANT A Ps3...I just can't validate it until the 'killer app' comes out at that price. I almost want an excuse to spend the money -- i'm itching to try it out...I mean I have an HD plasma 42' that's 720p...but I have no idea how bluray will look on it b/c its not 1080p, so that part doesn't sell too much. I like the backwards compatabilty but they are ripping out the EE chip to help the firesale of the 60gb models which also seems underhanded and I'm confused why they do that except to trip the sales and save production money

So when is the killer app coming out?? Like what physical month in 2007 do you have to constitute buying the system? Killzone is 08 right? So will it come down to Lair, Warhawk, and Heavenly Sword for the remainder of the year?

Hey all games start on a PC in one form or another. Whether it's designed on the PC, or a port from a PC. It's the ultimate gaming option if money was not a limit. Sucks money is a limit so we have people complaining about a 600$ console. Whereas to play the same game on a PC you'd have to usually spend 2k+ but allows you higher res, and better graphics and much better update/mod support.

^Sony's management has been kinda sneaky in the past months.

^^ yeah Forza should be up there. Crazy game. Possibly even dirt. Fun game to play.
RTS never worked well on consoles. Need the keyboard shortcuts in my opinion to fully play the game. Although i haven't played C and C 3 for 360 yet, just PC.

^^Yeah, pretty much. Lair, Warhawk, Heavenly Sword, Uncharted, Little Big Planet, and UT3 are probably the biggest exclusives it'll have this year. They all have the potential to be killer apps, with Heavenly Sword probably topping the list.

I'm not gonna argue that Sony acted pretty brutish early on the PS3's life. Suggesting people work more to afford a PS3 was especially ridiculous. There was general agreement though at this years E3, that Sony has backed down from all that recently, and is coming with a much more humble approach. I'm also not a fan of boycotting good products because the company behind it did/said some stupid shit. I wouldn't own anything if I did.

I don't agree that there is anything underhanded about the 60GB phase out. This is what companies do. They sell off old models to clear shelf space for new ones by dropping the price. Trust me, the $499.99 price point is here to stay. There are plenty of 60GB PS3s out there and they won't be sold out for a couple months at least. The 80GB version will drop to $499.99 in time for the Christmas shopping season.
