On Chinatown I usually play objective and set up in a central 2nd floor with claymores, UAV jammer, and a silenced assault rifle.

this game still doesnt have ctf. this is probably why i am not playing anymore. the domination also seemed more fun in 3.

much better FFA/Team Deathmatch game. objectives felt lacking.

Game was probably the best 360 shooter so far, but for me personally it is getting old. The new maps are really not that good. Broadcast is probably the best out of the lot, but creek is a horrid map, and chinatown is not that much better. The things that I think are dumb that I used to shake off make me more mad everytime they happen now. Random kids spawning in my back, martyrdom, juggernaut, and last but definitely not least last stand. Not to mention the patch made the sniper even easier to use, so now all the campers who lay prone in bushes can kill me even easier. I think I just need a long break from it, but it could be done for me...and I don't want to hear that all this is part of the game...some of the perks are absolutely retarded. I play only Deathmatch and Domination, but I am disgusting at this game and the people killing me with this dumb shit is too much for me sometimes. I will go 40+ and 15-20 every round rushing, but half of those deaths are martyrdom, juggernaut kids, campers with claymores, snipers, and the like /rant

once you learn to play the game, there is no perk that should give anyone an unfair advantage...

juggernaut: shoot them a couple more times or play on hardcore where it doesn't matter

martyrdom: don't run over or near dead bodies

last stand: shoot them once they're down

i think i speak for most of xbox live in saying once you die by each a few times, you adapt your style and that takes care of most of the perk problems.

definitely....i'll still get caught with a martyrdom here and there but i've damn sure learned to listen for the familiar clinking sound of someone dropping a grenade...i also get in the habit of shooting someone until i see the +5 or +10 (or +1 or +2) come up so I know they're dead (Although you dont get that in Hardcore)...and Juggernaut...who cares...you need to kill people with Juggernaut to get one of the challenges...and I'll take a Juggernaut anyday since they:

- show up on the radar
- can't hit me with a RPG/Grenade/Claymore/C4 with double blast radius

but some people act like Juggernaut is the worst possible perk anyone could use...those people are idiots

yeah i don't have a single class, nor will i ever, that includes juggernaut. 99% of the time the frustration is just from normal gameplay where you get shot first, a little lag, or a headshot, but it turns into "JUGGERNAUT IS FOR CHEATERS11!!11"

This is my same setup + an LMG. Chuck three frags right when you spawn and you are pretty much guaranteed at least one kill.

I can't beleive the dude above whining about the perks.

If you want a straight up run and gun game go fucking play Halo3. All the others are part of the strategy. If you let someone kill you with last stand then you are a pretty big n00b. Also, you learn early on to avoid the martydom but oops sometimes u get stuck.

The exception is i think juggernaut is kind of ridiculous. When i shoot some n00b not paying attention and he still manages before dying to turn around killing me 80% of the time he's using juggarnaut; 15% of the time i just fucked it up; maybe 5% of the time its just someone very 1337.

BTW what gun setups do you guys use.

My current 5 setup is

AK47- red dot ( RPG, sonic boom, deep penetration)
SemiAuto Shotgun- (3x special, sleight of hand (lifesaver), last stand)
M4 w/ ACOG Scope- (claymore, stopping power, conditioning/steady aim)
MP5 w/ Red dot (3x special, uav jammer, martydom)
M60 w/ Grip ( double tap, last stand)

Sometimes switch in the Dragnov (3x special, uav jammer, iron lungs) for the shotgun or M4
Sometimes switch in AK74u for AK47 in some of the close quarter maps like vacant.

When i first started playing the AK47 + M60 were my favorties; but lately i've been tearing it up with the MP5 and have been trying to get good w/ M4 ACOG.

oh yeah as someone said above spawning infuriates me sometimes. Today while playing i was killed 3 times in a row before i could even make a mad dash for cover or take aim my weapon.

*Spawn, take two steps -die] x3

First off, I play Sabotage just about 95% of the time I'm playing.

There are some perks which I feel are simply too good to do without. Stopping Power is the main one I go with in every situation. I'd much rather fire fewer shots accurately to get a kill.

I am a HUGE fan of Claymores, as I tend to play a much more defensive game. These are absolutely invaluable to me on Bloc, Broadcast, Crossfire, and a few others where there are some brilliant places to put them.

I don't care how gay people think Martyrdom is - there's nothing else in this perk slot which gets me as many kills, especially in Sabotage. If I'm the last person between the bomb stand and the enemy bomber, I'm gonna charge him. Even if I die in the process, the Martyrdom grenade can still prevent the plant.

My sidearm is always the USP mainly because I own one and I love it.

Rifleman:
M16A2 + silencer
Frag x3
Stopping Power
Martyrdom

Gunner:
M249 + red dot sight
Claymore x2
Stopping Power
Martyrdom

Sniper:
M40A3 (I just plain love this gun. It almost never fails me.)
Claymore x2
Stopping Power
Iron Lungs

SMG:
Uzi + silencer (currently experimenting with the Uzi over the P90)
Claymore x2
Stopping Power
Martyrdom

Grenadier:
G36C
Grenade launcher
Stopping Power
Martyrdom

same here.

Although i've been replacing my "sniping" w/ a

M4 ACOG
claymore
stopping power
steady target (in case someone sneaks in close)

The best is using UAV jamming w/ MP5 on the bloc. People love to campout so i'll just sneak around real quick and mow down two or three enemy snipers before the other team realizes they have an invader. Also, cool is playing sniper defender. Someone on the other team thinks they'll be sneaky and get into our building and kill my camping teammates but i'm shadily standing by waiting for them to run in.

If you have to take more than one shot to snipe somebody, then it increases the likelihood that they're either going to escape or return fire. This is precisely why the semi-auto sniper rifles in this game are of no use to me at all. I find that with the M40A3, you can hit head, center mass, or even upper legs and it'll kill with one hit (except leg shots won't kill if they have Juggernaut). I've certainly tried to use the other sniper rifles, but none of them have the same reliability as the M40A3. I had hoped that the Barrett would be the clear winner in the sniper field, but I have had some exceedingly curious misses with it against stationary targets (i.e. from a building at one end of Crossfire to the other). In my experience, the Barrett will probably hit a long range stationary target about 7/10 times. With the M40A3, I can rely on it to hit about 9/10 times. I do still see some strange misses with it, but they are much less frequent than with the Barrett.

Well, I feel like UAV Jammer is be much more useful if you're playing close quarters - especially if you're using Extreme Conditioning and a shotgun. I find that if you're sniping, then you're more commonly going to be killed by someone getting revenge after watching the killcam as opposed to someone spotting you with a UAV. The killcam really makes sniping challenging in this game, as you have to constantly keep moving - or just hope that the other team is too lazy to retaliate.

I'm one of the very few who genuinely love Bloc and Creek because there are so many good sniping opportunities.

i try to keep my scope up for a few seconds before and after a shot so people cant use kill cams against me

i just know it sucks when you're camped down in the bushes in your ghilly suit, and nobody sees you at all, but somebody comes up and stabs you or shoots you in the head because of your UAV

I think the RPG is grossly underpowered. When i fire an RPG into that middle building in backlot it should pretty much take out most of the top floor. As it is now you practically have to hit the guy in order to kill them.

RPG never really impressed me that much either, but I guess it's a good thing or everybody would be using it. Now, C4 on the other hand can be so much fun in a Sabotage game. Put a block on each side of your Stinger crate, and most people don't even spot it when they run up to plant the bomb. It doesn't work all the time, but it certainly is worth a good laugh when it does.

C4 is fun

as far as RPGs i never really use them, but if you're trying to get the "Kill at least 2 people with a single RPG" challenge, I'd recommend RPGx2 and Sonic Boom on that small desert board with the courtyard...cant think of the name...but if you're on the balcony and looking down at some of the doors where the enemies come through, thats usually a decent place to shoot an RPG and kill a few folks

Bumping this to the top. I bought my ps3 with GTAIV and COD4. I have neglected GTAIV almost entirely for online COD. I have played only about half the single-player campaign and am pretty much all multiplayer now.

What games do you prefer? I guess from my Counterstrike days I am very partial to Team Deathmatch. I just prefer the strategy of team based play. I like sabotage but haven't played too much. I'm still only a 2nd Sargeant but I lead my group in my last 3 matches last night so I'm getting better.

I didn't realize juggarnaut made you visible to radar, I think I may have that on my of my classes. But the one I use the most is MP5, red dot, USP, stunX3, deep impact, UAV jammer

I've never been good at sniping, I guess I sit too long and get spotted (dates back to CS too) so I hardly ever do it. I guess that's why I hate creek too

add me to your PS3 friends list MikeMayhem187 and lets play.

i kind of suck at this game. need to find the best perk/gun combos for my playing style. i am level 26 currently, and lately have been using m4 with 3 specials, stopping power and deep penetration. sometimes i mix in juggernaut/martyrdom, but juggernaut doesn't really help me b/c i still don't end up getting a kill before i die half the time. stopping power seems to help negate my poor accuracy. i like the m16 a lot too.

what are the best perks to use for those kinda weapons? btw i'm using red dot on both, i tried the AWOC (or whatever it is) but i'm not as good that way.

i also kind of what to give another weapon style a chance since i've basically stayed in assault. what are the best setups for shotties or SMGs?

yeah that one mighta been there all along. i've been using it for quite some time. especially when i'm trying to level up a gun without red dot yet. that shit is hard for me to do lol.

so does UAV jammer just make it so that when they get the radar after 3 kills in a row you don't show up?

would that combined with a silencer make you never appear on radar under any circumstance?

uav jammer blocks you from showing up on the radar at all times. including when the enemy has a uav and when you are shooting. silencer + uav jammer isn't really necessary
