3 down one to go for texas, this will be their first road game of the 4 though and texas tech can run with anyone on offense, will probably come down to which team has to punt once or turn the ball over once as to who loses that one. 10/25/2008 6:47:41 PM |

So what's the protocol about low scoring Big 10 games?
I know if this was a SEC game we'd be masturbating about the defenses.. I'm going to go ahead and say shitty offense right now, because I don't want to give any credit to tOSU for fear they will ruin the BCS title game again. 10/25/2008 10:04:45 PM |

Whoo! I'm pulling for Joe Pa and Penn State to win the National Championship and him go out on top. It would be fitting for such a great person like him. I decided that if they beat Michigan then I wanted them to run the table and win it all. 10/25/2008 11:11:37 PM |

Thank goodness. If tOSU won, they probably would have moved up to #6 or #7, then the rest of the season would be all the #1-#5 teams losing one by one, maybe even waiting until the conf. championship games, then you'd see ^^^^ anyway.
I'm just glad that season outcome can now be safely avoided.

I sort of like JoePa and would like to see him go out on top too, but he blew up what would have been the best "all sport" conference for every kid who grew up in the Northeast liking college sports.
There SHOULD be an all sports conference including, PSU, WVU, Syracuse, VTech, BC, UConn, Pitt, Rutgers and Maryland (which was rumored at the time in the early-90s). JoePa's fragile ego -- Syracuse and Pitt AD's at the time wanted PSU to commit to basketball and JoePa didn't like that -- is the reason that never happened..

Well PSU is more like a Big Ten school anyways.
Also Maryland wouldn't leave the ACC. They are a founding member.

Maybe now, but throughout history they have been a Northeast team. They OWNED the northeast recruiting and consistently played the bigtime northeast teams far more often than the Big 10 teams.
Thanks to Pitt and Suckacuse they were not offered Big East membership (due to their bball programs). It's no secret they would've joined the conference had they been offered...

you have a better pass rush with Marvin Austin and that other guy... it wasen't a shot at UNC's defense. I was just saying that our soft pass coverage isn't the only reason we're getting taken advantage of for 3rd and longs. Quit being such a bitch.

BCS Standings. A few interesting points:
- Big East, ACC and Pac 10 each with only 2 BCS teams. ACC and Big East with non in top half of standings
- Computers like Utah and Boise over 1 loss UF and undefeated TTU
- Utah and Boise, if they both win out, could get one auto bid (the non-BCS exception) but also could get an at-large conceivably
- Almost 1/4 of the BCS Top 25 is non-BCS teams
- Penn State will almost assuredly be in the NC game should Bama or Texas lose given their schedule

Who the fuck has FSU played to be included in that? Did FSU beat a quality team like Ohio State on the road? They beat an average Miami team and a VTech team with no QBs...

No but if they have one loss, they will have beaten Florida and a few quality ACC teams including the ACC Championship that are better than almost everyone on Penn States schedule. A win over Florida is equally as impressive as a win over Ohio State. I dont think theyll run the table...but if they do...10/26/2008 11:00:43 PM |

Right now, UVa is in the ACC CG. UConn beat UVa by 30+. Forgive me for not counting that as a quality win should they play in Tampa.
FSU has done NOTHING this year... they haven't even beaten a single Top 35 team and beat TWO 1-AA (or whatever) teams.
Even IF they beat UF they won't be anywhere near the top and Penn State should ABSOLUTELY be in ahead of them.
The ONLY 1 loss team that I can see conceivably more deserving than PSU is the winner of UF/UGa this weekend.. 10/26/2008 11:02:20 PM |

Virginia and Oregon State arent the same team they were at the start of the year.
Penn State has played a 1 game schedule...plus maybe Michigan State coming up.

What is so hard to understand about who they WILL play? We're talking hypothetically not what has already happened. Of course Penn State has played a better schedule now according to Jeff because of Ohio State and FSU's two D-1AA opponents. All that is going to change in a few weeks...don't throw some strength of schedule crap at me now when one team has the toughest portion of their schedule to come 10/26/2008 11:24:30 PM |

I know its not a popular topic, but UNC is heading in to a bye week. They face GT after that, but GT plays FSU this week.
So if GT loses to FSU, and UNC beats GT, ... and hypothetically UNC wins out the season, what bowl would they play in?
Im just curious. I dont really know how the BCS bowl system is set up and put together... 10/27/2008 12:37:38 AM |
