Per our rules, you were too late in your correction. If you can't make it by the "edit post" allowance, it is set.

It cost me a game last week.

slave's rules...AC bolded both so it was obviously just a formatting error. you clearly put the tags around WF.

i'm sure plenty of people have made errors in 2 yrs worth of the contest.

also, hey now, you didnt even try to say it was a mistake, you said you wanted to change your pick.

I know that, that's why I wasn't upset about not being able to change it. I used it as a comparison because Jaybee didn't even look like he had a formatting error.

like most people, I copied someone's picks from above and went in and changed the ones that were different and added my wildcards, so I simply forgot to change that one, or I probably assumed no one was stupid enough to take WF so I didnt even look. MY fault for not checking, so its fine counting it as a loss, but if that 1 game makes a difference I shall be known as "The People's Champ"

Did anyone take Washington? I'd be surprised if anyone did. But it wouldn't surprise me at all to see them pull out the win tonight. +3.5 would have been a much more interesting spread.

I thought about putting this in the sports betting thread, but I think most of the people that give a damn are in here anyway.

I find betting theory fascinating and I'm wondering how y'all come to pick the side of the pointspread that you do.

Are there key stats or indicators you look at to get an edge? Is it right off the hip guessing and "feel" that makes you pick certain teams? Do you have a system that takes into account a bunch of factors to produce the team that you pick?

^^ I would say I'm much more of a feel person. I'll look at the basic stats and previous schedules, etc, but I don't use some statistical system to make a decision. I guess it results in my gambling being more streaky, like this season where I am sucking ass as I'm not following sports as much and don't have a good general feel for things compared to a few years ago when I made hundreds off centsports with like a 65% win rate.

same here... I look at rushing and passing yardage / yardage allowed a lot in college.

In pros, things such as back to back road games, traveling cross country, etc. have a huge impact

This past week, here are a few things I considered:

- I know better than to pick against Bill Belichik after a bad loss
- Idaho sucked ass, I figured Boise would have to beat them bad
- I thought the 49ers -6 was an absurd line

of course I only went 6-4 last week, so wtf do I know

hey now requested the State/Carolina game this week, but I don't want to pick against State and I'm not confident people could remain objective on that game. If you would rather substitute the State game in for VT/Miami post and say it.

ps: I don't care what other games you would change, add, or drop so don't bother.
