i feel confident that you could conquer westeros using only 3 full grown dragons whose wingspan covers villages, that can swallow mammoths whole, and can rain fire down from well outside of bow-range. (even inside bow range wtf are arrows going to do to something that big)

the psychological toll alone would probably be enough.

the big IF is how long it takes to get to the full grown part.

ah ok I get it now, I never saw the reaction of dany but she must have felt like a total idiot after it looked like she had made some great noble choice and free the woman, I'm appreciating the realism of this series, realistic as you can get for fantasy, nothing black and white

I've noticed almost every major character in the series has some element of gray (besides just the shallow savage killer people), except for that little prick inbred kid who seems the only real clearly evil guy so far, yes his father threw that kid out the window but he does have a genuine love for someone even if it his twin sister, and she is mostly evil but has some mercy

I think you'd enjoy the series. "Even the bad guys have redeeming qualities" is probably as close to a central theme as you can find.

I think his wolf is over a year old by that battle (I'm not sure how well they really conveyed the passing time), but I understand your point.

Also, the producers said today that they have a slightly larger budget this season that will go towards CGI for the dragons, direwolves (mixed with real dogs), and hopefully actually being able to show some large-scale combat.

I'm glad I didn't read the books because fantasy novels are shit. Really, it takes you 1000 pages? Maybe if you didn't spend so much time excruciatingly explaining every minute and useless detail you could cut it down to 500.....McCarthy won a pultizer by writing 287 pages and Franzen who writes LONG books keeps it under 700....

Robert Jordan was one of those writers that makes 200 pages of story into 800 pages of crap.

GRRM has non stop character development and story progression. It's really quite impressive.

^ Yeah I can't say, over the course of four books, that I ever felt like GRRM was wasting words. He spends some time describing meals and feasts, of course, but even then, it goes toward setting up the culture. I've never read Robert Jordan, but I've heard my brother complain about it.

GRRM is top notch from what I've seen though.
