Its a 10:30 start which means it will be 11:30 cst and since our team would have just traveled to the central time zone from the eastern time zone its effectively a 12:30am start for ourteam

I'm assuming many of you may follow our players on Twitter. If so, you'd know a lot of these guys go to gym to workout and/or shoot around at all times of the night. These cats are college kids that stay up all kinds of late anyways. Plus, with the adrenaline of playing in the Sweet 16, I doubt the late time will come into play. Quit bitchin, we got this.

as it turns out, doug gottlieb does not hate nc state, he just thought sidney lowe was a bad coach.

also 18% of brackets had us in the sweet sixteen. holy shit, that's a lot.

Is there any possibility that Ohio beats UNC sans Marshall?? Their stats are fucking garbage and they haven't beaten anybody significant until this tournament. I haven't watched them play one game this year.

Would take a miracle. Something to the effect of 20 made 3s would probably do it.

how awesome would that be? Trust me, i like the idea of beating UNC, but the idea of losing to them sucks more.

It's because they didn't play anybody decent but Louisville, and barely lost that game.

Not sure why everybody is sleeping on them, especially with the questionable PG situation for UNC...

Ohio is pretty terrible, by far the worst team left in the tournament. Assuming both teams were healthy though they'd have about a 17% chance of beating UNC.

Without Marshall that has to increase quite a bit. One important fact is that Ohio is #2 nationally at forcing turnovers. Granted, they play against weaker competition typically, but if Marshall can't play that certainly bodes well.

Marshall is a little bit of a turnover princess himself anyway, so if he plays and his wrist is bothering him maybe that will be a factor as well.

Marshall has a 27.1% turnover rate.

Comparatively, Lorenzo Brown has a 23.3% turnover rate. And no one accuses Lorenzo of being great at protecting the ball.

These are the 3 scenarios that I see for the mighty NC State Wolfpack.

Scenario 1: We beat Kansas and advance to beat OHIO/UNC en route to the final four and ultimately the championship game before losing to the Kentucky Wildcats

Scenario 2: We beat Kansas and advance to elite 8. UNC, despite not having Marshal, plays inspired basketball for their fallen leader and beat Ohio. This new found confidence and "win one for the gipper" attitude makes them a force, they destroy us in the elite 8 by 15 on their way to a National Title.

Scenario 3: we lose to Kansas, who trounces Ohio/UNC and plays UK in the Final..olivia wildes tits help KU bring home the title

I really can't imagine they'll try and play Marshall on Friday unless they're down by like 15 at the half (which I also can't imagine happening). If he's playing, they're saving him for Sunday.

Nah, Williams has already made it clear they aren't playing Marshall unless they have to, and Marshall refuses to sit out.

Absurd. I was listening to Gold and Ovies the other day, and they had a doctor on that said basically that if you insist on playing with an injury like this, instead of allowing it to heal properly, then you run a serious risk of ruining your entire career. He apparently is projected in NBA mock drafts (for some reason), so it's pretty ridiculous to risk that.

If they ever planned on Marshall playing again this season, then they have handled this whole thing very poorly. Whoever guards Marshall is going to do two things: force him to dribble to his right and hack the shit out of his right wrist ever chance they get. This is one of those situations where they should have played it extremely close to the vest and never it let be known that he had an injury. Again, that's all assuming they expect him to play again in the tournament. I personally don't think he will.

I had an argument with an opposing attorney today about wrist hacking. He thought that any time an injured player's wrist is hit, it's purposeful (i.e. Chris Paul, Hensen, etc.) I could not get him to understand that when you're HOLDING A BASKETBALL, it's going to be inches from your wrist, which is going to get hit.

Then again, he also thought Hodge deserved the nut punch, so he's likely completely off his rocker, and I shouldn't have wasted time arguing.

i assume you're using the calculation which includes field goals attempted and free throws. that doesn't really seem very relevant when you're talking about strictly ball handling

FSU - 7 turnovers
Maryland - 6 turnovers
Maryland again - 6 turnovers
Michigan State - 5 turnovers
VT - 5 turnovers
Wisconsin - 4 turnovers
Miami - 4 turnovers
Tenn St - 4 turnovers
Duke - 4 turnovers
Creighton - 4 turnovers

10 games with 4+ turnovers.

In his last six games averaging just under 4 turnovers per game.

He does average a ton of assists so he bound to turn the ball over some, i'm just saying that if he plays with a broken wrist against a defense that is one of the nation's best at forcing turnovers and steals then there's a good chance he will commit quite a few turnovers.

^ He is correct. FGA are considered into TO%. It's based on the numbers of possessions you "use". Which could be an assist, shot taken, turnover, etc.

Some UNC Walmart fan came into my workplace today trying to do some business with us. He saw some of the State stuff I have in my office and said "Yeah the Wolfpack are playing well". He tells me he is a UNC fan and I ask him if he went to school there. The answer is the obvious no.

We start talking about the tourney and he calls Creighton a bunch of goons for injuring Marshall intentionally. LOL. I ask him a few questions and can tell he knows jack shit about sports and only likes Carolina because his mom got him a shirt at the local gas station when he was 5. Did not even know who Stillman White or JJ Watts were. Told me he would be pulling for the Pack to beat Kansas because it helps UNC reach the Final 4. I just smiled and decided that I did not want to do business with his bandwagon ass.
