Nah. I think I'm going to start enjoying the pts instead of just selling them, especially malleable ones like URs.3/11/2014 4:58:01 PM |

Let me know if they let you out of it.
Also - the TOC say the 7% doesn't apply to the bonus pts3/12/2014 1:21:47 AM |

Probably should've clarified but by bonus points, I meant the extra point/dollar for travel and dining. Not the actual signup bonus.
They were pretty quick to come back with a 5k point loyalty bonus to keep the card. Probably could've pushed it more but the boss had a question so I just took it instead of haggling. 3/12/2014 7:27:25 AM |

So you called them to ask about the bonus pts and then told them you wanted to cancel, and they offered you the extra pts? I should also try that. Haven't done any cc haggling in awhile 3/12/2014 11:19:59 AM |

Yeah, half the time they usually offer some sort of incentive bonus to keep the card or cancel out the annual fee. 3/12/2014 11:24:14 AM |

Just called and said the AF was coming up on April 1st, said I was considering my options and asked if they had any additional spending bonuses they could offer. Never specifically mentioned cancelling so probably could've gotten more out of the deal. 3/12/2014 11:27:19 AM |

I've been in touch with Bruce regarding UR, the going rate is between 1.3x and 1.4x. Not great and probably worth it to hang onto for transfer to UA from Sapphire unless you are looking to unload and want $ now. 3/21/2014 10:30:46 AM |

Does anyone know of any non credit card promos, or other cheap way to get 25k AA miles? I'm signing up for Directv through their promo, but still need 25k more for 2 RT tickets to Australia. I know they had some Citibank checking account promos in the past, but im not seeing anything now. Any other ideas? 3/21/2014 5:47:50 PM |

Cheap, as in signing up for some promos for next to nothing....or cheaper than just buying the points. Just thought someone might know of something similar to the directv or citibank deals. 3/21/2014 10:49:21 PM |

Hey everyone. Sorry to noob it all up in here but I just had a quick question. I'm looking into getting my first credit card finally (thinking about cars and houses in the future). Does anyone have any suggestions for what to be looking for? Cards? Companies? I just want something for right now to start slow with (buying gas or groceries). I am currently at SECU and they have a credit card offer but I have no idea what that is like compared to other ones out there or if I even have many options in the first place. I'm pretty new when it comes to this obviously.
Thanks for any help in advance! 4/7/2014 1:42:08 PM |

Good suggestions. I use Chase Freedom and Discover It for my 5% cashback cards. My wife buys all the groceries, so I had her get the Blue Preferred.
I use the Fidelity Amex for everything else that those cards don't cover, which gives 2% cashback on anything. Their signup bonus is slightly higher than usual now at 75$.
I just got a targeted offer on the Blue Everyday for 250$, which is usually only offered on the Blue Preferred at select times. Not bad. 4/13/2014 8:12:47 PM |

so i just unloaded all of my Chase UR points on a round trip flight to Spain this fall. That being said, it's been a good 3 years with the Sapphire Preferred, but I honestly don't think it has enough benefits to keep using and rebuild my points. Therefore I think I am going to knock it down to the standard Sapphire (no annual fee) and open up another card.
That being said, i've heard the talks of recent points devaluation and those things. But what seems to be the hot card lately? I had posted about a Barclay's Arrive(?) card awhile back but the big introductory offer seems to be off the table at this point.
I tend to lean more toward travel than cash back. 4/17/2014 8:59:41 AM |

Curious about the new Amex Everyday cards. Apparently they're full MR point earning cards - one with no fee and one with $95. My PRG annual fee is due in a few months and I'd love to be able to transfer all my points to a card if I can instead of using them all before I have to cancel.
Figure you can't downgrade from a charge to credit card but does anybody know anything about possibly downgrading a Delta Gold or another Amex credit card to one of these? 4/20/2014 10:13:33 AM |
