do my eyes deceive me or did paul janish really just strike out bunting with runners on 2nd and 3rd and less than 2 outs.

and then shafer k's. good heavens what a shit show. BJ Upton should do the Sammy Sosa bounce step out of the box if he even makes contact. Janish should be a career AAA player

It was a foul ball bunt attempt with 2 strikes.

If that changes things.

^well in all honesty, he has cooled down a bit. Gone from .346 to like .332.

Man, New York is just a shit town. Apparently there were some Mets fans behind the dugout that cheered when Heyward got hit and were calling for Mets pitchers to hit another Braves player.

Also, apparently they don't teach that the tie goes to the runner in New York. Murphy and Collins look like complete idiots. What more should I expect from Mets though? Losing, Piece of Shit Franchise

not to get ahead of myself, but yeah I will. The Braves will basically play the winner of the wild card game between (st louis, cincy, pitt-whoever doesn't win the division because that winner will play dodgers due to the rule you can't play team in your division) so.....do the braves want to play the up and coming pirates? revenge on the cards? or cincy? A braves dodgers NL championship would be awesome!

That's no longer a rule. The WC winner plays the #1 seed regardless.

^ This. It really doesn't matter who the Braves play in the division series as all of the Central teams have strengths and weakness. The team I'd least like to see though is the Cards because they have true #1. Both the Reds and Pirates have depth, but are like the Braves in that they don't have a big time #1 guy. Plus Wainwright has a good postseason experience too.

The most important thing for the Braves is to hold onto that home field advantage. Losing J-Hey sucks as the Braves have been on a tear since they moved him to the top of the lineup.

I had my jaw broken in two places on a come backer while pitching in HS. Aside from the lack of solid food intake, which isnt a huge deal with protein shakes and such, and the annoyance of having your mouth wired together, the physical part isnt that bad and he will be fine to take batting practice etc very soon.

But by far the mental part was the hardest. Made you scared as hell to be around the field or anywhere with balls flying around (no homo), hard to stay in on pitches, dive for a ball, even sliding into a base was scary for a while.

Obviously a MLB player is on a completely different level than I ever was and I am sure his competitive drive will overcome doubts but I think he will definitely be "off" for a while even after he is physically fine.

this J-Hey injury is really making me sick to my stomach. I think it's the NC State Shit levels of paranoia ingrained inside of me, but it just gives me a really bad feeling. No clear lead-off hitter puts either Simmons or BJ back into that slot, or Schafer if and when he starts. It also means more playing time for Gattis in LF, which I don't consider a good thing.

I gotta figure it's Schafer full time now, leading off. More pt for BJ and Gattis, but good god it's amazing that we still have "good" players we can trot out there.

Damn that news sucks about Beachy. What a awful couple days for the Braves between Heyward's freak injury, Maholm coming back and being Maholm and sucking big dick, and now Beachy.

i think the secret to Maholm is that he'll have to be yanked after 5 innings. That third time through the order destroyed him.

Best thing for the Braves is that they still have a relatively easy schedule to close out the season so even playing .500 ball should let them get to the postseason unless the Nats turn into the As and rip off like a 20 out of 22 type streak.

wow, justin just got tossed from the game in the middle of running out a ground ball. Umpires have been such pussies this season recently, they've been taking things way too personally and heavily making their presence known in games when they should be doing the exact opposite.

Heyward was hitting close to .400 for the month of August. You take that off the top of your lineup and put Simmons or Schafer up there, and you're gonna suffer. It is what it is.
