The Heat haven't played well the past two games, but good night the Spurs have been just unreal. Their offense is amazing. Oh well I was rooting for LeBron, but the three peat ain't happening. I guess Walmart nation will be happy as this will prove MJ is better than LBJ

What happened with Miami in these two games at their home court? They just quickly shrink.

Miami looks lifeless this game. Like they don't care. Also, don't know if Spurs are getting a lopsided number of fouls being called or if the refs caught onto Miami always trying to draw fouls with flops, etc.

I mean San Antonio had this thing all but won last year so its no surprise they are likely gonna win this year. When you get that close and let it slip away I dont think you can ask for any better motivation the following year. This has been a clinic really and just goes to again prove that team basketball will almost always win despite age or how many stars you have. Wonder if this will affect what Lebron decides to do in free agency? 6/13/2014 9:01:16 AM |

While I certainly hope that is the case, being a State fan has caused me to never expect anything but NC State shit. Especially after game 6 last year.

Wade looks like a 50 year old out there right now trying to hoop it up with the young cats. Also, how many fucking layups can you miss in one game?
That's pathetic. 6/13/2014 9:57:40 AM |

Yeah Wade was brutal last night and is flat awful on defense. Spolestra almost needs to bench him. The Heat made their mini rally in the 3rd with his ass on the bench. I hope LeBron leaves Miami and teams up with a young pg like Irving after the season. I idea that the Heat might add Carmelo is laughable. What a horrible decision that would be. Need someone who can work with LeBron, not rob him of 25 possessions a game. 6/13/2014 10:23:42 AM |

FWIW Wade was pretty phenomenal in the indiana series. I was really expecting him to step up and run the floor when lebron cramped up in game 1, but i guess that wasn't the case.
It was nice to see james jones come off the bench and hit 3's last night. The rest of the bench just isn't really stepping up and having big games like the spurs' bench are (i.e. patty mills)
I really hope we see a transcendental performance from the heat in game 5. It's not like they have anything to lose at this point and it could be their last game of the season and need to play with every ounce of energy. 6/13/2014 10:32:56 AM |

i don't see how they could be, relative to the spurs. 2x defending champs who are probably sick of hearing about how bad they are and how it's lebron on his own. guys like chalmers (who will always have a soft spot in my heart from 2008) and cole spend the entire season just trying to not ruin the king's effort.
and then there's wade. at no point last night did he look like he intended to win the game. in the pregame interview he was asked what they had to do differently and he had the same blank look on his face that he did in the 4th quarter.6/13/2014 10:33:35 AM |

The only way Wade isn't opting in to that last year is some Pat Riley backroom dealing. His market value right now has to be the lowest of his career. They spent all season resting him and he's done nothing in the Finals. Danny Green has destroyed him.
And Pop is just abusing Chalmers and Cole with these lineups. Anytime he throws out Parker and Ginobili at the same time, Miami has no answer. That Duncan-Diaw-Leonard-Ginobili-Parker lineup is averaging a +11.5 in 10.7 minutes a game for the Finals. 6/13/2014 10:48:42 AM |

^^ teams don't just coast to 4 Finals in 4 years. they are just as determined as the Spurs are.
this is all coming down to age and bench-talent, and the Spurs are killing them on both fronts. other than Lebron, the Heat are relient on their older guys, who simply don't have it in them anymore. too many miles on their tires.
the Heat won back-to-back titles playing like the Spurs are playing now, not by Lebron playing like he had to in Cleveland, which is what he's having to do now. no amount of determination is going to make Miami's bench younger. 6/13/2014 11:36:34 AM |

there's a big difference in coasting and picking your spots, which is what any older team (including the Spurs) with a smart coach would do, especially after nearly a full season of playoff games over the past 3 years 6/13/2014 6:35:36 PM |

Sooooo. any guesses as to what Phil is gonna do with the knicks? after the derek fisher hire, all eyes are going to be on the 2015, 2016 free agencies. Doesn't look like Melo is in for the long run, but if they can pull a pat riley and assemble a championship squad, we could see a new power shift in the NBA during those years. 6/13/2014 11:55:08 PM |

If Phil can somehow convince Amare to opt out of the last year of the worst contract in the NBA, maybe he could do something. Otherwise, no upswing for NY this year. 6/14/2014 7:13:35 PM |

In all honesty Miami has no chance without the refs. They'll get help but pprobably not enough.
SAS has the LeBron stopper in kawhi. Green bottles up wade. And Miami can't take advantage of SAS biggest weakness which is obviously Parker.
SAS doesn't care if Miami goes small they have diaw. SAS can try going big but I'm not sure that will work. Don'teexpect much splitter/Duncan together.
Kawhi coming out party baby. Would say spurs in 5 but I'lllean 7 just bc refs will tiickytack foul kawhi to Keep Miami in it" |

knew it. it was obvious. I couldn't understand then why people were picking the heat. Lebron is good but the guy was playing with the Toronto Raptors. The Spurs are beating the the Toronto raptors with a second chance to game plan. Let lebron get his, those other haven't been hitting any shots all year and their defense slipped. The lopsided scores did throw me off. I cant remember but didn't they lose twice to the god awful pacers? I knew the heat were going down.
good job spurs. you're not a dynasty tho imo. never won back to back championships and the last chip was over 5 years ago? nah.6/16/2014 3:49:19 AM |

You give Bosh too much credit. He's soft as shit. Sure, hanging out behind the 3 point line is great when you're trying to draw Hibbert out there. Doesn't work too well in a series against the Spurs.
