I still don't understand how this team can raise its game against the top 6 but struggle to score a goal against shite like Norwich. Poor game management today.

The PE teacher keeps getting away with it. 15 unbeaten. Outscored opponents 38-4 in that timeframe. Love it. Wish I could be as good of a gym coach. More of the same Ole. If only we'd signed Bruno in the summer. Would be 6 points better off.

I can't speak to either of those but manu should be able to run a replacement level manager out there and keep a solid hold on 3rd with a healthy team.

An above value manager would have them competing with city and Liverpool. I guess we'll see next season.

^ My how much the narrative shifts in half a season. So which is it, our squad and manager is so shit that we will finish 8th or our squad is so good that we really should be challenging City/Liverpool with an above value manager? lol.

I know you specifically didn't say we will finish 8th but the general sentiment has been that Ole is out of his depth and United's squad is terrible. Something I have been arguing against in this very thread saying that Ole's tactics work but he doesn't have an effective number 10 to break down the low block. Couple that with whatever mindset Pogba had during his injury and inconsistent youth/depth. Ole needs to develop and I think we as a squad and as a coaching staff have evolved over the course of the season. Bruno has been a revelation though and he was a key piece of the puzzle.

An above value manager? Outside of perhaps Klopp and Pep I really don't see who else in world football could take this United team and have them score 98 points. There are still some glaring weaknesses in United's right wing and our depth is abhorrent. I don't even think Klopp or Pep get this United team to 90 points.

Go on Everton. 3 points behind Leicester assuming this result holds. Guess the form table is irrelevant and Leicester will not fall out of top 3. Love it!

I don't really care to argue positions I don't think I've taken, that's your problem for lumping all opposing fans together. I may not be remembering all my posts but I'm pretty I've noted multiple time this season that united have been unlucky.

And competing with the top 2 doesn't mean getting 98, but it prob means getting above 70!

You have, I will highlight that. I noted in my post though what the general sentiment about United is. I think we are 6 points better off at this moment in time if we had Bruno from the beginning. That has us on 58 and in 3rd. 5 points behind City. I think United is around 6 to 8 points worse off than the ability in our current squad. We will see over the course of the next 6 if we have developed that consistency however. I think Ole is the right man at the right time for us and so far he is earning his time to build something. We have been here before with LVG and Mourinho but we are younger and the balance under Ole in our starting 11 is much better. Now we need quality depth and consistency.

Brighton was a great result in that sense because they started the game with the low block trying to frustrate us. This was the kind of match without Bruno and Pogba we would be easily frustrated because Martial and Rashford just didn't offer much in the final third yesterday. But now with both of them we have other options and Greenwoods steady development has been immense for our attacking options as well. This consistency can only be further built on with signings like Sancho and Van De Beek to give us depth and different options.

This was before Maguire transfer and before United brought in Bruno which obviously changes the discussion slightly. But aside from that, Leicester spending the majority of the season in top 4 places compared to United not doing so basically proves me right and it's because of Rodgers (and Vardy).

I honestly forget BR was a Liverpool coach sometimes and my higher opinion of him/Leicester have nothing to do with that history. I wasn't even a big fan of him at Liverpool. It's wild you think experience at Liverpool/Celtic plus his success with Leicester now don't place him higher in the coaching ranks than Ole who failed in his only other stint that wasn't bankrolled with big-time transfers.
