For starters, you're never going to stop it unless you come up with some virus that completely destroys t-dub and packpride. Even then, other sites would pop up in their places. And while these sites spew forth a lot of trash...just last week the Wilmington Star News had an editorial that said Sid should step down. Another loss or two (probably after a blowout loss to UNC), the News and Observer and other peoples will be printing the same stuff. Players would have to be completely oblivious to the outside world to not know that there is instability in the coaching situation.

And it also goes on EVERYWHERE. IC makes NC State boards look tame in comparison. Pretty sure you could find the equivalent or worse at every other school across the country (at least major schools).

You don't want to hurt the program?? Then win basketball games. If you can't do that, then step aside and give someone else a try. I'm not saying that hardcore bashing doesn't hurt the program a little bit if players or recruits see it and it affects their decisions. I'm just saying that it's the least of our problems. Our biggest problem comes from the top and trickles down. We got rid of the main problem last year (Fowler). Now we're on to the next one (Lowe). It's in his and the the team's hands now. They start to win and make the tourney, then maybe they can fix things. If not, then it's Yow's turn to fix it.

I'd much rather read bitching and complaining about the coach and team than see someone crying about how the message boards are affecting the program.

I can see how that could be taken as being directed towards you...but it wasn't. Sidney just needs to win games. Until that happens, internet bitching is going to continue and you can't do anything about it except get people even more rile up by arguing with them...therefore making it worse.

It only happens badly at programs that probably need to make a change. I would argue that it even helps if it gets those changes made faster instead of prolonging the inevitable and making the program even that more difficult to rebuild.

I'll rejoice when we hire a coach worth a shit (which I fully expect Yow to do, but this is State we're talking about, with our luck we'll end up promoting Levi Watkins). But it is still sad to see someone like Lowe fail, not only because I want any head coach of ours to succeed, but because of his history as a player. It's tough to eat one of your own, it's unfortunate that we have to do so, but it is certainly time and I honestly think the decision to move on has already been made by Yow.
