Also rocking a 6+ and still works well. Thinking of making the upgrade to the X though. Have one on preorder arriving Friday but dont know if I will keep it yet. May just toss on Ebay and make a little money.

My 6+ runs like total dogshit ever since updating to ios 11. Hopefully 11.1 is better but so far I have noticed different bugs. Never had an iphone run this bad. 10/31/2017 8:31:43 PM |

I concur with skywalkr. My 6+ was buggy after this ios 11 update. I got the iphone 8 plus and am enjoying it. Wasn't sure about the iphone X right now. 11/3/2017 4:00:07 PM |

Kept the X and so far really digging it. Didnt think this was going to be the case, but the X is significantly faster than the 6+ and the battery life comparison is a blowout. X has made it through my whole day with about 30% left, whereas the 6+ had to be charged by 6pm. Face recognition is no issue...its as fast as me touching the ID button and waiting for the home screen to load on my 6+. If I was coming from the 7 it probably wouldnt be much of a change but from the 6+ its significant. Worth it for me and Ill probably keep this for another 4 years to make the cost somewhat palatable.

It's a shame that Apple is forcing people to upgrade after 3 years by making their software too much for older phones.
And you guys just throw your money at Apple and thank them for the opportunity. And you're actually bragging that your phone makes it through the day without having to be charged??? A brand new phone? 11/6/2017 12:16:55 PM |

^^ not sure why slower software on older devices is surprising to you. Computers are the same way...you still using your Packard Bell from 1998? You think Apple should be forced to maintain software for older devices thereby increasing cost, slowing upgrades/improvements, and not developing new features?
Happy that you use your flip phone to only make calls and it lasts a week for you. I use my phone pretty heavily during the day so the improvement in battery life was surprising to me and much appreciated. One less thing slowing me down. 11/6/2017 4:10:16 PM |

I've got a Samsung 7 Edge and after over a year I'm at about 50% or more, with pretty heavy use throughout the day.
And I don't get pressured to upgrade my device to where it will get bogged down.
And the headline for CNN for the X review kills me..."The future takes getting used to." The future? Really? More like welcome to 2015 as far as phone tech goes. 11/6/2017 9:02:35 PM |

Anyone else tried iOS 14 beta yet? I thought widgets was kinda lack luster so far. Guess as more developers make stuff for it, it could be ok. Was weird when i closed out safari and the porn video kept playing in the corner. Hey siri is kinda cool. Every app after opening asks something about do you want to let this app connect with other devices on same network. Few other things I’ve noticed but haven’t figured out why its good or what significance of it is 7/10/2020 7:11:02 PM |

Widgets will be more big event driven I think. If your going to a concert you can have the widget up and get updates. Or Disney world, etc. 7/14/2020 7:18:21 AM |

I've been using Android widgets for years. It's nice to have a more detailed weather forecast on your screen without having to open an app. Or an email widget that shows the most recent few email headers, again rather than having to swipe the screen or open the app. Or a calendar widget to show your few most recent or upcoming appointments. 7/14/2020 5:08:46 PM |
