That was a pretty stupid episode.

They had the opportunity to throw in a Superman reference too. It was set 7 years in the future, they should have thrown in some random news report in the background about Superman saving a bus full of kids or something.

That Christmas episode totally ripped off Star Wars Episode III. Which is sad, because it wasn't that good of story to begin with. That being said, the back story of Clark as Santa was good.

^Really? I felt the opposite way. The whole "Clark meets the 'real' Santa Claus" thing was stupid to me for some reason, but I liked the whole good vs. evil thing they were doing with Lex. His mother represents his good side (his heart) while his father represents his dark side (his ambition). His mother was telling him to choose to listen to his heart over his ambition, while his father was telling him that no good can come of such a thing.

I suppose it was a tad predictable that Lex would choose his dark side over his good, but that's only because we already know that Lex turns into an evil corporate scum bag. I suppose, though, that instead of Lex being another bad guy who's evil for the sake of being evil and whose only motivation is monetary greed, we can at least see that he chooses to follow the path of money and power because he wants to secure the other things that also matter to him. That's one thing this show has continued to develop; Lex's constant struggle with good and bad. He wants to do good, or at least has good intentions, but as the show progresses he makes more and more of the wrong decisions.

I can see how you think they basically copied Episode 3, though, and I agree with you.

I think it was more of a rip off of that Nicholas Cage movie. I think it was called "The Family Man." But it had almost the exact same idea.

btw, anyone see Lionel sporting the Alienware laptop? I bet he was gaming when Lex came in.

it was much better than i thought it would be...
the last scene with lex was really shady and villainous (if that is a word).
Can't wait to see how they try to hoodwink Pa Kent.

i liked the real santa thing.. gave the episode a nice christmas message...
maybe he is a meteor freak and will come back in a future episode trying to kill clark
