I just dyed my hair. It was supposed to come out auburn, but it pretty much just made my hair a few shades darker brown. I think I like that even better than the color it was supposed to come out.
I desperately need a haircut, and I went by the design gallery the other day because I've heard good things about it, but it was closed in the middle of the day. I was pissed. 11/18/2006 8:04:06 PM |

I just used Natural Match a week ago in the cool formula for my hair color. I like it a lot - it toned down the red in my hair and made it just a smidge darker. 11/18/2006 9:19:32 PM |

I replace the ring every month and skip over having my period and then after the 3rd month I keep the ring out and have a period. I was on the 3 month cycle of ortho-cyclen and didn't want to stop the cycle. For me it's great, and it's healthy.11/19/2006 8:57:08 AM |

will doing a 3-month cycle allow you to remain fertile later in life, since you're only shedding 4 eggs a year as opposed to 12?
[Edited on November 19, 2006 at 9:55 AM. Reason : I guess it's more than 12 in reality] 11/19/2006 9:55:06 AM |

^No. You're born with around 1-2 million eggs. There's no way you'd ever release that many before menopause anyways, and the ones that don't mature degenerate. By the time you actually start your period, you only have 300,000 or so, and by menopause, you only have around 100. This is from them just dying, more so than you actually releasing them through a period, so skipping a few months in your cycle should not be much of a change on when you start menopausing. 11/19/2006 10:02:22 AM |

Instead of having your period during the fourth week, you just put a new ring in.
I don't do it that way usually- but I've skipped a period before like that (I was going camping, and fuck that shit).11/19/2006 5:01:35 PM |

I am now on Levora (a monophastic pill) and I completely and totally suppress my menstrual cycle. I was on psychiatric drugs for years for severe emotional problems that began about the time I hit puberty. I had seen multiple doctors and psychiatrists until luckily one doctor asked me to start charting my menstrual cycle along with changes in my mood. (This was right about the same time that premenstrual dysphoric disorder was finally gaining some recognition in the medical community.) It was actually startling to see how my mood was tied to hormonal fluctuations. Doctors decided to put me on a monophastic pill (same dose of hormones in every pill unlike a pill like ortho tricycline) and supress my menstrual cycle. It's been about a year now and I am free of psychiatric drugs for the first time in over 10 years and feel better than I ever have. 11/19/2006 5:55:45 PM |

I understand why, too (they're valid reasons...when they actually are an issue) - but doctors seem to feel it's okay to make BC decisions for their patients - and I'm not okay with any doctor who is okay with that.
Besides, you sorta undermine your authority when you suggest an entirely unsuitable alternative method 11/26/2006 8:12:15 PM |

it does have hormones.
It was mirena with hormones, and lighter, less frequent bleeding, or the copper/non-hormonals with longer, heavier ones.
Twas a no-brainer for me. 11/27/2006 10:30:54 PM |

Other than banana republic, gap, and express...where else do yall suggest I look: One of my friends wants a good, all-purpose dress that will last for several years. The first thing that came to mind was 'black sheath', but she's not been too keen on those. (Yes, she's completely fashion impaired). She's a size ten, and has walnuts for boobs She said no to both of these because of the neckline:
She likes this one:
I think I'll check out Ann Taylor, as well. She said she'd like to spend $50, but I told her she should be willing to shell out more. 12/2/2006 1:56:50 PM |
