Not that it mattered whatsoever, but how the hell did some of those penalties get called. How did LaRose get pulled out of that scrum with the roughing penalty?

I think Walker immediately regretted his decision though, it looked like he was trying to see if he was okay the second he hit the ground

also, it was somewhat frustrating to see Forslund leave his homerism at the door last night, if not almost pro-bruins, but I guess that was reflective of the way we were playing, meanwhile, the color guy, Brickley I think?, god damn... he definitely didn't leave it out.

I fucking hate the Bruins broadcasters.

Reminded me a lot of Game 6 against the Oilers in the Finals that year. After winning game 5 at home, we go up to Edmonton with all the momentum and get beaten badly. Hopefully we can take care of business at home like we did after that game.

I have no problem with Walker being suspended, but man, you can't really call that a cheap shot. This is hockey, if you drop your arms, you deserve to be punched in the head. Especially since Walker was just coming over to help out Cullen who Ward was roughing up.

I think you meant to say Walker is out (otherwise why would he be pissed?). ESPN just confirmed, Walker is out for game 6 but only game 6.

Nevermind, Sports Center must have been wrong.

hurricanes.com and nhl.com are both saying fine, no suspension.

"RALEIGH, NC -- The National Hockey League today announced that Hurricanes forward Scott Walker has been fined $2,500 for an incident that occurred at the 17:13 mark of the third period of Game 5 against the Boston Bruins. There will be no additional punishment assessed.

"We are satisfied with the league's ruling," said Hurricanes President and General Manager Jim Rutherford. "After our team received several punches throughout the series leading up to Game 5, it was a matter of time before one was going to be thrown back."

"I accept the league's decision," said Walker. "Based on what was said on the ice as I was dropping my gloves, it was my understanding that I was engaged in an altercation."

aaron ward was one of my favorite canes but this is the playoffs and you can't get away with the forearm shove he has been doing at the end of so many plays especially when you are up 4 goals and the game is on the chippy side.

I just want the damn game to go ahead and be played. There's too many questions up in the air with all the shit that went down on the scoreboard and physically to determine which team will come out better prepared for tomorrow. You can throw the superstitious shit out the door tomorrow, it doesn't matter what shirt you wear or what beer you drink in the parking lot, after last night we are going to have to show up tomorrow night to close this shit out, regardless of whether Boston does or not.

haha that picture is awesome.

i, too, heart aaron ward. I went to the cheescake factory for my 18th birthday two summers ago and saw him. My stepmom went to the bathroom and spotted him, and got his autograph for me. I went over to tell him thanks, and he stopped eating with his family to shake my hand, wish me happy birthday, and make small talk for a minute. Way more than I would've expected. Very nice and polite guy.

But the Bruins have been giving us some extra shots...it was just a matter of time before we bite back. (see seidenburg incident)

1. Accept said tickets.
2. Use them yourself or ensure they end up in someone with intense hatred for the Bruins' hands.
3. Repeat 2. If you don't use them, ensure a Bruins fan does not end up with them.

damn fucking straight, ward shouldn't have roughed up cullen then expected to have a diplomatic discussion with walker.

and e.j. hradek can suck my nuts:
Quote :
"Hradek: What wasn't funny was how Maurice answered an earlier question about the impact of the incident on Walker. "Scotty's probably got some sore knuckles," said Maurice, who is known for a dry sense of humor. In this case, it was misplaced. I doubt he would have been so flippant if the situation had been reversed."

the situation would not have been reversed, because the CANES don't goon it up for nearly 5 games and then back down from the consequences when it boils over.

i, like scott walker, will be exceptionally PISSED come tomorrow night.

Anybody else think it's just plain awesome how right now the Pens' fans are booing like hell everytime Ovechkin gets the puck. Just him, it's instantaneous and loud and stops when he no longer has the puck. It's awesome. I say we do that every time Chara touches the puck.
