I have no problem with them going after Arenas...other than his contract. We need a PG, more scoring, and some sizzle for this boring ass team...all three of which Arenas fulfills.
Besides, the guy has something to prove now, I think, which could lead to good things. 7/13/2010 6:02:33 PM |

Man that trade really sucked. We now have expensive guys at the end of the bench who suck hard.
We gave up one of our best assets in chandlers expiring deal without even unloading diaw or diop.
We also admit that we wasted a first round pick yet again (ajinca what the fuck was that pick?!)
If we trade for arenas we may as well just fold the franchise. He is washed up and owed $80 million.
He has played 47 games total the last three years and done nothing but fire up bricks and commit turnovers. He's probably the most toxic player in the league right now.
If they were willing to take diaw, diop, carroll, and najera for arenas then maybe I'd consider it but even then that's pushing it 7/14/2010 9:56:41 AM |

Our first round picks
2004: Okafor 2005: Felton and May 2006: Morrison 2007: Wright, turned into Richardson 2008: Augistin and Ajinca 2009: Henderson 2010: Pick traded for Ajinca
What a fucking track record

If you wanna make it look worse:
Our only good picks were okafor, felton, and wright. What did we do?
Traded okafor for 20 games of chandler. Then traded chandler for a guy we are cutting and 2 scrubs who are owed $20 million.
Traded wright for one season of overpaid richardson then traded him for $27 million worth of shitty diaw.
Let felton walk for nothing so we could be forced to pay almost as much for a worse pg or twice as much for a similar one.

Did the Bobcats get Shaun Livingston?
EDIT:
Quote : | "
The Charlotte Bobcats are close to acquiring Shaun Livingston to help address their hole at point guard, an informed source told the Observer Wednesday.
Livingston, 6-7, is a former lottery pick by the Los Angeles Clippers, who suffered a career-threatening knee injury several years ago while playing against the Bobcats. He turned pro out of high school, after signing to play for Duke.
Livingston has since played for Miami, Oklahoma City and most recently the Washington Wizards. He played 28 games for the Wizards last season -- 18 of them starts -- averaging 9.2 points and 4.5 assists.
Livingston would compete with D.J. Augustin for the starting job vacated by Raymond Felton, signed with the New York Knicks. The Bobcats will likely bring undrafted rookie Sherron Collins to training camp as a third option at the position.
Signing Livingston would likely preclude the team from other options, such as trading for Minnesota's Ramon Sessions or Indiana's T.J. Ford, at least for now.

Quote : | "# 1 " Alright... I just got off the phone with my guy who is leaving TWC after working 28 of the last 48 hrs We had a long conversation and much of it was very vague, because either he couldn’t tell me, or he’s not really sure.
So, here’s what I know: - The Calderon trade is not dead. There is still a possibility he will be a Charlotte Bobcat, but relations are very strained between Charlotte and Toronto. He doesn’t know for sure, but he suspects that Toronto was going to use Chandler to pull the exact same trade with Dallas tomorrow using some of their trade exception to get Dampier, Carroll and Najera. They wanted to cut more cap space and the Bobcats got wind of it, killing the trade and beating them to the punch- Toronto are not happy about this. Again, this is his personal speculation.
- There is a greater trade in the works, but today’s deal gives them more options. The Bobcats needed some of Toronto’s trade exception to pull the deal off, now they figure they can force the issue with Toronto as they have all the pieces the Raptor’s wanted, or work the deal independent of anything with Toronto due to Dampier’s deal.
- Going through the Raptors is not 100% neccesary for this deal to take place, but he no longer has any clue who this deal involves. He said that ‘the number crunchers are in Charlotte and the decision makers are in Las Vegas’.
- The Bobcats have 60 days to cut or trade Dampier.
- MJ, Larry Brown and Rod Higgins are all working together on these roster moves, but MJ and LB seem to be the only one’s really signing off on anything, Higgins appears to be fetching deals.
- He told me he ‘honestly doesn’t know’ if Chris Paul is a target, but those were the water cooler grumblings at TWC today.
- Deals we’re seeing in the day are the product of meetings in Vegas during the night. We’ll keep seeing stuff throughout the day, but most of that will be smokescreens for what we see in the afternoon.
- If everything falls through with all of the trades then Dampier will be cut. He is the safety valve where the Bobcats can still wheel and deal but get close to the cap if the house of cards falls down.
- He reiterated that the team still want an elite PG and an elite C, but the chances of getting both appear slim.
- Everything is going well, and this Dampier trade was not a desperation move on Charlotte’s behalf. It was rushed through the league office to ensure the Bobcats had everything in place to resume negotiations tonight knowing exactly what pieces they have to trade.
# 2 " I just heard an absolutely INSANE trade rumor... absolutely, wildly, intensely INSANE From another friend in New York, doesn’t work for the Bobcats but has his finger on the pulse of the NBA.
I don’t want to say anything in case this doesn’t come true… so I will tell you this much:
This deal he heard about through an ‘unnamed league source’ would require us trading Gerald Wallace but I assume you, the payoff would make the Bobcats be relevant and in title contention.
He told me this deal would be ‘damn near impossible’ to happen, but he said that his source tells his it has been mentioned in Las Vegas, and was not shot down immediately. If this is step four, then I tell you I got goosebumps when I heard and will tell everyone later in the week if it doesn’t happen." |

Lol there isn't a single player in the league that would make us title contenders if we trade straight up for wallace so this trade must be an epic 3 for 1 deal.

^^ Diaw HAS to be a part of that deal. They've been working too hard to unload him and unless they plan on trading him as a piece to get a center later on, this is the best chance.
I'd be really sad to to see G-Force go. He's been our longest tenured player, our leader, the franchise's first all star, and a generally great guy who goes all out every night. He would definitely be missed. 7/14/2010 5:42:26 PM |
