You guys are seeing the Derrek Lee I've experience over the last few years. I started calling him 6-4-3 a couple years ago.

I'm not checking it up either, but the Braves have played well against the NL Central and I'm pretty sure we've handled the Pirates outside of this series.

Braves get to face Wainwright and Carpenter the next two nights

Phillies get to play the Mets

I'll be rooting for the Mets as if I was NyM410 this weekend. Braves will need to find a way to win one of these two games. Hopefully they'll win the Sun and Mon games as the Cards have Westbrooke and Lohse going. Please Giants lose as well.

good job Tony LaRussa, you fucking alcoholic faggot. Let's bat our pitcher 8th so he can come up with runners on 2nd and 3rd with one out, and strike out. Then in his 2nd AB he can bat with the bases loaded and 2 outs instead of a real hitter! Brilliant! You're not fucking better or smarter than every manager has been for the past 120 years, go suck a dick.

Anyways, I'm about done with the Braves for this year. Maybe it's the NC State fan in me, but I have almost no faith in them.

^Well at least the meltdown has been gradual and over the past several weeks I've been preparing myself for it. I'm just glad we didn't do like the Mets did a couple years ago and blow a 7 game lead in the last couple weeks of regular season.

cannot believe we won after that start.. still only 1 up in the WC.. not gonna look it up but i hope the padres play the giants a lot more, and the braves win some games. stupid fucking pirates

edit: i thought it was worse, but down 3-1 vs carpenter in the 3rd seems like a loss

What's different other than the hats? And what's the deal with the white hat days in MLB this season?

And also, what a terrible day for an afternoon game

Two huge games the last couple of days. Maybe the Braves have their swagger back? That stretch there where they went 3-6 (before today's game), the Braves had to face Santana, Josh Johnson, Wainwright, and Carpenter. They beat two of those guys, but fucking lost to the retards for the Pirates and Marlins and that is what killed them.

Hopefully this momentum will carry through the rest of September. Those 6 games remaining with the Phillies are going to be huge. Thanks to Mike Pelfrey for the big start today. Too bad Santana is not around to pitch against the Phillies anymore this season.

I loved that Gonzo fucking crushed that pitch, and I loved his reaction

Anyone here go to any of the Cards games? TV made it seem like there were a shit ton of St. Louis fans there. Every big Card hit or out, the crowd sounded like Busch.

Phillies are playing out of their minds right now. Every fucking game they have a 4 or 5 run lead early in the game. Wish the Braves bats would wake up and get some hits. Managed just 5 hits last night facing some guy named Maya. WTF?

When I read that Livan was pitching against the Braves, I thought to myself "That old fat ass will probably spin another shutout". What a damn surprise. Plus he had a double and a HR. WTF? Dude turns into Babe Ruth against the Braves. He was helped a lot by horrible umpiring behind the plate, but the Braves would have lost either way.

Makes no difference now if the Braves make the playoffs. With both Hudson and Jurrjens pitching like KK, the Braves have no chance of beating the Reds or Phillies.

Glad the Dodgers held off the Giants last night and the Padres are cooling off the Rockies. Let's see who can back into the wild card spot. Tonight is the last game of a 20 straight games stretch for the Braves. Seriously who the hell made this schedule. Giving a team 20 straight between the last week of August and 1st two weeks of Sept is bullshit. If Medlen had been healthy, the Braves would have made it through this rough patch much better and Minor would not be forced into so many high pressure starts as a rookie.

wow, already down 4 b/c you give up a grand slam to a guy who isn't even batting .150 for the year. I know it's mike minor and he's only pitched in a handful of games but god damn, we are picking the worst time to be mediocre, which is a generous observation.

I really didn't care for the way the bottom of the 7th was handled from a managerial aspect...

and then no situational managing in the bottom of the 8th...maybe Bobby is losing his mind and that's why he's getting out.

Wow, WTF Braves? Between Brendan Ryan, some shit ass named Maxwell, Chris Carpenter, and Livan Hernandez, the Braves are trying to see home many HRs a team can give up to sub .200 hitters in a week. Braves should trade McLouth to the opposing team so he can triple his HR output in a day.

Hudson was on yesterday. Glad to see the Braves still know how to win more than one game in a row. The Phillies make me want to stab myself in the eye. They are just plain ridiculous right now (18-4 in the last 22). Very few teams outside of a Sept Rockies team could have held them off.

If Halladay, Oswalt, and Hamels keep it up, they'll cruise to the WS and either the Yankees or Rays will have a tough series. Sucks that the WS matchups are already pretty much set unless some type of major injury happens or another team gets white hot. I sure as hell do not want to see a Yankees-Phillies rematch.

^ Yeah I saw that yesterday. I assume we'll be going with JJ, Minor, and Hanson. Wish we could find a way to go JJ, Hanson, Hudson. Phillies just have everything going their way right now.

Oh well, just hope we can hold of the NL West to win the wild card, even if we get swept in the 1st round by the Reds.

JFC, i check my phone and see Phillies down 6-3 in the bottom of the ninth and think we've just made up a game in the east only to wake up today and see they came back and scored 4 to win it. WTF, can this team ever lose?

Phillies are playing over their heads. This hot streak eventually has to come to an end, too bad it will probably be in 2011.

Tonight's matchup is a must win considering that the two Roys are coming up Tues and Wed. JJ needs to pitch 10X better than he has in his last few starts. Hamels is going tonight and I saw this encouraging stat on the AJC

Quote :
"Hamels is 4-0 with a 0.31 ERA and .160 opponents’ average in his past four starts, with 31 strikeouts and 6 walks."

Hamels has a 1-1 record with a 6.39 ERA in 3 starts against the Braves this year. JJ is 3-3 with a 2.56 lifetime ERA against the Phillies in his career. However Hamels has probably been pitching the best out of their big three or as the Phillies fans calls them H20 (gay).

Its going to be tough, but taking 2 of 3 is obtainable in this series. JJ is CAPABLE of holding his own. If we can keep it close when its handed over to the bullpen, I think we have the upper hand.

In Joe Torre's interview the other day he said he would be open to any team who wanted to talk to him about a managers position, even though he is retiring. I doubt he is going to come out of retirement, but would anybody want the Braves to at least contact him after the season?
