The fact is the kid has just ruined any chance he had at a career in pro baseball (which wasn't much, but did EXIST) for a middling shot at a pro football career, and he's either getting bad advice or ignoring people who know better.

I hear RW is really disappointed with the BCS not letting him compete for the National Championship this coming season. Apparently they first want his team to participate in 12 games, win them all, win the conference championship, and have a high enough ranking to be #1 or #2 in the nation...
