Sometimes when I was playing $1-$2 I'd switch to lower tables when I needed to blow off some steam and do stuff like that.

The most any player after him has is $10. I probably just would have pushed.

No, but when its a raise to $2 I might reraise to 6, but if you only have 10 left then I'm just going to push it all in.

I miss PayTru. It was so sick to make money...and then go blow it at Best Buy or the strip club the same day haha.

So i've been talking with some friends about setting up a prob bet....

One week starting with $5 at .01/.02 full ring to $1000. Playing any level of FR I want and being able to reload the original $5 if I go busto the first go round or w/e. Don't think it will be to hard if I can get up to $100 or so.

Anywho my friends are looking to lay me 3 to 1. And i'm willing to put a fair amount of money in this. So if anyone is interested on here lemme know

A couple questions -

- Have the withdrawal problems been corrected for poker sites? If not, what are you doing with your money?
- Best place to start with ~$100?
- Tournament vs. Cash games, what's the better place to spend your time?

Withdrawing on Pokerstars hasn't been an issue for me. I do the e-transfers and they genenerally fun around 5 business days to show up in your bank.

Both Stars and Full Tilt have bank wire options for withdrawing over $1000 (i think thats the minimum)...and they work overnight (atleast on Stars which i've tried). There is a fee assoiciated with that though.

With 100 bucks i'd recommend playing some $1 and $3 45man SNGs...great bankroll builders...laughably soft fields.

biggest nightly loss anyone?

down 4BI's tonight at 10c/25c in under an hr. all-in 5:1 turn (lose +$50 pot), 3-way all-in 49:1 turn (+$60), jammed flop in position with open-ended+2overs and got donkey called (lose another +$50 pot obv), and AA beat by flopped A-high flush (+$50, but i donked off on river to huge overbet, due to tilt.)

i just need someone to tell me to stop bitching. -$100 aint no thang, but i just hate running so bad so often. i took a break from omaha a few yrs ago when i was 1 outered 3 times in a week, haha.

well, 15 BI's is my 1 night record years ago, at 5c/10c. i woke up with a hangover one morning, checked my ps acct, requested email hand history, and carlfaced.

*here's to bad beats, cheers*

Lost about $600 in an hour playing $2-$5 at Bellagio in Vegas. Time to hit the strip clubs after that. No reason to risk tilting.

Just got back from a cruise. Poker was a joke. Rake was $7 which sucked but won about $400 playing 6 hours of $1-$2. The table was 100% automated which was hard to get used to and there was only one table so usually no one was waiting or there was a long wait. Wish I could have played more but doubt the gf would have been to happy.

I don't like the raise was minimum.
I don't like the raise with a hand like that UTG.
I don't like the raise with a stack that small.
I don't like the raise on a level that deep.

You committed 1/3 of your chips preflop and for the record a 2X bb reraise is not a min raise.

Quick question about how to handle these friendly tourney games I play every couple/few months with buddies.

Usually, a couple of us play like rocks while the rest of the table are call stations. Back when we played one tourney a night it was easy to just sit back and play the nuts and let the morons donk out and then what was left were guys that weren't aggressive or easily read. But at some point we decided to switch to two games a night with faster blinds and I'm finding that being a rock doesn't get me nearly enough hands and I end up getting forced into playing less than good cards against multiple call stations. Last night in the second game from the dealer spot after guys checked in front of me I put in 3x bb raises on top pair top kicker with one hand and pocket pairs covering the board with an open ended straight against guys drawing dead and sucking out. These guys are bad enough that I don't think all-ins are enough to get all of them to fold their mediocre hands. It isn't always that bad, but I'm wondering if there is a better way to manage this situation, or should I lobby to go back to one tourney a night?

hmm. friendly games to me means getting drunk and not giving a fuck.

if youre playing with a lot of donks, play your big hands big. implied odds are huge in donkish games. and apparently, this is a big secret among poker players, but you could look into push/fold ev stats. plenty of info online.

Thats part of the problem, the blinds move pretty quickly for the number of hands we see so over the course of a single tourney, we aren't seeing many monster starting hands. I saw AK twice, AQ once, Ax a couple times, KJ and KQ once, and had 10s, 8s, and 6s once each over the two tourneys we played. Sometimes it's a good bit better and sometimes it's worse. I don't remember which position I was in for all these but I was usually up against more than one guy to the flop with 2x and 3x bb raises didn't push them off. I'm expecting "there is no real strategy that will help much" here as the valid answer and I've already sent my buddy a message telling him we should move to slower blinds.

How many chips do you start off with, how much are the blinds, and how fast do they move up?

Play only big hands and hands like pp & suited connects if you can get in the pot cheaply and hope you connect with a big hand until your chip stack is around 7 bb's. If it begins to get that low, go to an end game strategy. If they are calling with mediocre hands you should be able to shove 7 bbs with an above average hand and have a reasonable chance at winning the pot. Hard to tell without knowing how much the blinds are and how fast they go up...but it sounds like you should hammer your bigger hands, make it 4x the bb instead of 2 or 3 and make them pay for their draws.

We started with 1100 chips, and blinds at 10/20 and increased them somewhat ad hoc every 15ish minutes. I think we went 10/20, 20/40, 25/50, 40/80, 50/100, 75/150, 100/200. Or pretty close to that. Took us right at 2hrs for each tourney.

And now that you ask that, I think we normally start with 1500 in chips and I remember seeing a lot more flops early, or at least having extra in the mid game to maneuver with.

^lol, my buddy is in town and we've turned 30 into 400 on Full Tilt. For the most part we just split the buyin/payoff and I let him play since he's five hundred times better than I am.

Have you guys seen this 70+5 Super Turbo Alpha IV nonsense on FT where they give you 300 chips on a 9 person table and wish you the best? Played two of those, got 2nd and then 1st. Fucking absolute craziness, but by far the most fun I've had in a while.

UB still gives me $40 every other month to blow on blackjack.

I got drunk and ran it up to $600 once.. then the darkness took hold

I almost posted a ridiculous graph from yesterday where I broke even for my first 2500 hands of shortdonking and then won $550 in the last 50 hands. I ran $40 up to $330 on one table orbit, doubling up thrice before the sit out hit me.

^Heh, similar story. Aforementioned friend had 100 given to him on oddsmaker and I believe he worked it up to ~600 and decided 5/10 HU.NL was a good idea. Flopped top set vs nut flush and it left him with ~27 bucks. Steaming he took it to the BJ table and it was now 54. Let it ride again and it was 108 --then he calmed down and through poker and sports rolled that into like 4 grand. I always end up making a bundle of cash when that kid comes into town and he's moving to LV this month, so maybe I'll finally get out there. >.>

my favorite retarded online casino story happened at english harbour

a 5£ happy birthday bonus was deposited in one of my gnomes accounts, 5x playthrough, blackjack and JoB prohibited

1 spin, 1£ coinage 5 coin per spin aces and faces, 4oak. ended up hitting a few more hands and cashed a touch over 800£ in about 15 minutes.

happy birthday indeed.

I think it was Noid who sent me a link to this pretty sweet slot machine deal a few years ago. Basically someone had analyzed all the odds in one of the forums and determined the deal actually had positive ev. If you put in $50 they gave you another $150, but you had to bet like $1000 before you could cash out anything. The best part was there was an autospin feature, so I just set the slot machine to minimum $1 bet for 1,000 spins and woke up with $260 waiting to be withdrawn. There also used to be some pretty sweet blackjack deals back in the day but unfortunately they all dried up about 6 years ago.
