No need to retract, as you're partially right.

We did favor Bell over Wilcox, because Bell could stretch the floor --- but also because it was a huge question mark whether he could qualify under our admissions standards. (the same standards that Any Katz covered last week as scaring off Calipari).

Wilcox, Bell and Blake were all interested in coming here. Especially Blake. Taking Crawford over Blake was an idiotic choice on Hreb's part. But, Wilcox was dumb as a stump, or we would've taken him and Bell together, from what I understood about the situation.

What part wasn't true? IF we start behaving this way again the media will be all over our asses yet again. We aren't the media darling Carolina is if we give them any excuse for negative stories they will take it.

This is bullshit. We were getting ripped before Lowe was even hired. Hell we were getting ripped before Sendek even left!

My big question for milkboner is why is the idea of behaving in a classy manner so distasteful to you? I mean who does it really hurt for our fans to at least attempt to take the high road while our AD does her job? Why provide ammo for a Carolina blue blinded media base?

I had season tickets for every one of Herb's seasons. Never heard him booed during intro's, even in his last year. That shit is totally made up. Not saying you're making it up (or that fans weren't pissed with him), I'm sure someone like Tim Brando said it first.

Whatever. I was there I heard it and anyone else who regularly attended games during that period heard it. The media ripped us heavily for it during our coaching search but I am sure it had no negative effects Hell you should start booing now I am sure it will just help our AD attract coaches and retain players...

The media has nothing to do with anything. Criticizing Lowe isn't controversial at all. Nor would firing him be. Not even sure why it's being brought up.

Lowe was a consensus coach on the hot seat every single place you looked this year.

Also x2asnice sort of had a breakdown here, from the looks of it.

^ The media isn't an issue right now but after that idiotic graphic during the UNC game I am concerned that they are looking for an excuse to become an issue. I fully believe that the lunatic fringe of the fan base is going to become extremely vocal and make us all look bad.

It's easy to read a fanbase as negative if the message boards are all you have to go on, especially when we've had nothing really great to be positive about during the entire message board era. The fans are going to be pissed when we lose games like Saturday where we go to play our biggest rival and our entire team looks like they are just out on the court to get the game over with. I'm not going to bust anyone's balls for being livid at the coach, especially when his track record is so awful.

There were definitely games that last year where Sendek was booed during intros...loudly.

I know the RBC nazis also disposed of more than a few anti-sendek signs that year as well.

Do you not think Sendek and Lowe will be viewed differently by the media? There is NO BASIS for not shitting on Sidney's performance(not booing), I can see the non-regional media's problem with Sendek not being appreciated. (Most of our local media acknowledged his departure was the best for both parties)

If Sidney goes, there will not be anything close to the backlash of Herb leaving.

I think right now we are fine. However I could easily state fans making a spectacle out of themselves (or students they haven't exactly been behaving too well with the Free Expression Tunnel) and this story quickly turning into "those rabid state fans turning on one of their own" which would be a convenient segue into rehashing Sendek.
Also I am more concerned about the national media than the local media because coaching searches tend to be national.
