legit talent a few years in a row will give us a legit shot at being back on the acc map. i am really excited about how we are recruiting. even in last years class i do not remember us having this many quality kids considering us. 6/18/2011 8:51:08 PM |

hypothetical, and way too early, but if Purvis joined, would Zo continue to start at point with lewis backing him up, and purvis start at the 2? and graham split time at the 2/3

I don't see any reason for Zo not to start unless Lewis is definitively better than he is. Zo will be our next leader, in my opinion. 6/20/2011 12:06:38 PM |

Yeah...unless Lewis is just a better PG (which is doubtful in Lewis' freshman year), then I would assume Zo would continue starting at PG. Purvis probably at the 2. Lewis backing Zo up would also allow Zo to move to the 2 at times.

Don't forget 5* Torian Graham. But unless he comes in and immediately outshines Purvis or Wood, i think he'll be backing them up at the 2 and the 3. What'll happen if we have Zo, Purvis, Reinhardt, Graham, Lewis, and Raymond on the same roster? 6/20/2011 1:28:06 PM |

^^How are you going to say that before he ever plays a game? He may be the next Jack McClinton. But yeah, if it came to that, he'd probably transfer. As nice as that would be though, I'd rather have a big guy in 2012 as opposed to 4 guards. But it's all hypothetical. 6/20/2011 2:31:08 PM |

Lutz signed a two year contract and said he was committed to finishing it out (although he wants to be a head coach again). He also has 2 more years of Charlotte paying him as long as he doesn't take another head coaching position. Look for him to leave after 2 years. 6/21/2011 10:07:48 AM |

Quote : | "1) He gets paid at least $1.35 million annually for the life of the contract.
2) He has what some people refer to as an “Evergreen clause” (I call it a perpetual option clause). Basically, at the end of every season, another year is tacked onto the end of his contract, such that he always has six years remaining on his contract.
3) If Georgia Tech chooses to fire him, they’ll be on the hook for all 6 years of the $1.35 million per season, unless he does something incredibly fucking stupid like get a DUI or break NCAA recruiting regulations, et cetera.
It’s something we all need to keep in mind when we’re talking about firing Paul Hewitt. $8.1 million (minus the present day dollars discount) is a fuck ton of money to pay someone as termination pay." |

2. Without Cause: For some reason that isn't defined under "For Cause"
3. For Good Reason: David Braine leaves Georgia Tech and Paul Hewitt decides to leave Tech within 2 years of Braine leaving OR Paul Hewitt goes to the NBA
4. Upon the death of Paul Hewitt - self-defined
5. Upon the disability of Paul Hewitt - self-defined
6. Voluntary resignation - self- defined

It's not really that funny. He did a ton of legwork and basically acted as an aggregate of information. I guess the joke was supposed to be on his 500? followers that might of thought he was a legitimate source.
Regardless, it just shows how hungry the public is for information on recruits. It's analogous to tabloids readers and their fascination with celebrities. Those publications get big bucks to get the exclusive interview or score the premier picture. Sometimes they get away with making stuff up, too.
Reality or not, it's the drama that everyone craves. It's nice to have an elite player commit to your school but if you hadn't been following his every move for the last 2 years, it wouldn't mean as much. 6/21/2011 3:39:45 PM |

i think it says a lot about the state of journalism these days. a lot of these guys don't really check their sources, just throw out whatever info they see.
it's just different nowadays because news moves at such a fast rate that no one is ever called out for using a garbage source or being completely wrong. 6/21/2011 7:03:20 PM |
