Well, now that I have a real job (aka no uniform ) I have to go find me some business casual attire. any favorite stores for work clothes? i mean obviously there's the big stores but I mean more the smaller boutiques and the like I probably haven't heard of

so I thought I loved my moisturizer... but it's starting to hurt

many times when I put it on now it burns my face really bad - atm my eyes are watering so bad it looks like I'm crying and it burns like a bitch it makes my skin all red and splotchy, too...

for reference, I use this:

(idk why the picture has three of them)

I thought I had the sensitive skin version but I guess I don't - and I'm starting to wonder if it's the SPF that does it? I have noticed when I put sunblock on my face it usually burns but I just suck it up :\ Any suggestions?

what are you washing your face with or are you using a toner before you put on the moisturizer? Could it be reacting to something you already have on your skin?

I washed my face with the neutrogena grapefruit cleanser right beforehand... but I'm not sure what would cause my skin to burn when I put on sunscreen, too

I haven't really paid attention to if my cleanser + moisturizer makes my face burn but iirc it burned occasionally when I went on vacation and didn't have my cleanser with me (only moisturizer)

yeah the only thing I can think of is that this particular moisturizer has 5% Octisalate and 3% Oxybenzone. Octisalate is a "penetration enhancer, which may increase the amount of other ingredients passing through skin." and then "Oxybenzone is a sunscreen ingredient associated with photoallergic reactions. This chemical absorbs through the skin in significant amounts. It contaminates the bodies of 97% of Americans according to Centers for Disease Control research." maybe you skin is getting a little too much of these ingredients right now and is reacting to it. I would switch it up to items without so much of these sunblocks and see if it helps.

you should get it cut every 4-8 weeks, depending on your hair and your cut. at least, that is what the aveda school told me.

Not at all!! My skin just feels super soft and I used to get some dry patches occasionally, but it zapped that problem in just a couple of days. I haven't had a dry patch the whole time...

I'm also using Coconut Oil on my skin now and that seems great too. My skin has improved tremendously with both of these products.

I get my hair cut maybe every 3 months... Just depends on how healthy your hair is..

hmm.. ya i get mine cut 7-8 weeks on schedule. But I don't want to get mine cut b/c its so long and beachy right now. I am wondering how much damage will be done if i wait another month or two before I do...

I know I posted what you are supposed to do, but I frequently go a year without a hair cut. I have freakishly healthy hair though. I used to dye it 2 or three times a year, but I rarely blow dry and I never curl or iron it and the only product I use on a regular basis is suncare in the summer. Sometimes I'll put de frizz stuff on it. My last hair cut was at the aveda place and the time before that was well over a year prior, and both the student and the instructor said my hair was as healthy as if I had been trimming it every six weeks.

I haven't cut mine since December. Whoops. It's been dyed a bunch though so my stylist hasnt filed a missings person report yet which is reminds me I told her last week I would call her to schedule a cut but I'm trying to wait until September when it's cooler out and I can actually style it everyday without dying from the heat.

My problem with haircuts is that I always find cute new cuts I want to try. Go get my hair done, it looks great. Then I can't style it until it grows out after six weeks. Wait four more weeks, get bored, want new hair cut, find choppy layered cut online, print it out, take it to get it cut, and repeat.

Ya I go to an Aveda Salon out here. I don't dye my hair, no flat ironing, just sometimes blow drying but even with summer I never do that. I always have my hair up.

I just don't want to wait 2 months and then go and she chop more off b.c I made my hair worse.

whenever my hair is short, I want it long... and whenever it's long, I want it short - so I hardly ever cut my hair

here's what my haircut history looks like:

June 2009: hair was mid-length, got it cut short
let it grow out
February 2011: hair was long as hell, got 7'' off
now: it's getting longer and I don't know whether to keep growing it or cut it short

^I'm the same way.. i've been growing it out for a friend's wedding and I can't wait until it's over so I can go chop it off!

The marketing director of Aveda gave me an appt for a free haircut and I've been itching to take advantage of it!

I recently committed myself to getting it trimmed every 6 weeks.

I wanna see if I can notice any improvements.

i got my hair cut last september

i'm definitely due for a cut but i hate spending money on it

blahhh

oh but i came here to post i got THREE NEW (to me) dresses. will post pics later maybe if i'm not lazy. my dad's gf was cleaning out her closet and had a bunch of 2 and 4 dresses and gave some to me to try on. she gave me 5 but i only liked 3. pretty good though!!! they're more for work or wedding type functions than "going out" dresses.

i know many of you already use it, but i've just started using pinterest and i am in love.

we have to remodel our bathrooms eventually (by the end of the year more than likely) as there was a leak at some point causing water damage to the joists underneath, the floors look gross as a result, and there's a crack in the master shower stall. i am having SO much fun pinning bathroom ideas.

now i pin other stuff too follow me! http://pinterest.com/elkaybie/

and as far as hair goes...i only cut mine once or twice a year as well. since i don't use many products or hair gadgets it's pretty darn healthy. i will have to get it cut soon though, but not the length. just a trim and a bang fix.

^ I might have to take you up on that. Having a garage sale this weekend, we'll see if it any of it goes. Crossing my fingers!

Oh, also, Macy's is teaming up with Soles4Souls - $5 buys a 25% off (regular, sale and clearance) Macy's code for August 27th.

Doesn't have hardly any exclusions on it like most Macy's coupons.

Fine print:
Excludes: Super Buys, Specials, Everyday Value (EDV), cosmetics, fragrances, TAG Heuer, Tempur-pedic, products offered by vendors who operate leased departments, including Maternity, eSpot, Louis Vuitton. Not valid on previous purchases, special orders, services, gift cards, gift wrap, jewelry, trunk shows, payment on credit accounts, restaurants, gourmet foods, wine. Cannot be combined with any savings pass/coupon, extra discount, or credit offer except opening a new Macy’s account.

Online exclusions are: Coach (online only), TAG Heuer, Tempur-pedic mattresses, baby gear, kids’ shoes, cosmetics, fragrances, and toys. Not valid with other passes or discount offers. Not valid on Everyday Values, Gift Cards, Gift Certificates, prior purchases, or gift wrap.

I like the first two, although I doubt someone with my big hips and little top half could wear it, I'm undecided yet on the third, and i don't care for the rest.

it will actually disguise big hips

the middle pink with the ruffle going down the lenth would show off big hips

elise i would think the last 2 photos posted would be the best shape for you. the ruffle at the top with the poof/one shoulder thing would help with the smallness you have up top and the detailing around the hips would create curves without them going out of control. it would actually create a lot of balance.

i know if i was to try a dress on like that, it would look well on my bottom half but not so much on my top half since i'm a bit top heavy.
