Typical NC State: unrealistic expectations.

Well, I know Barnes is high on everyone's list here, but I just can't see him as my #1 guy. He would be about #4 of the people that have seriously been considered.

1. Wright - Young, exciting, charismatic, good coach, could build a dynasty here.
2. Calipari - Proven he can win anywhere, but how shady is he really?
3. Tubby - I think he is a great coach, he just can't recruit.
4. Barnes - Did a lot with a little at Clemson, but did only quite a bit with a ton at Texas

And Pitino would be at #2 if he were in the conversation.

maybe the reason rick barnes hasn't said anything is because he doesn't give a flying fuck about NC State or the mess it has gotten itself into

maybe he's busy with, you know, actual work ahead for next season at UT

well lets just say he was half way interested but not really leaning towards NC State.



Those players leaving could push him towards us...IF and only IF he was even considering. If he had no intention of leaving in the first place, then those players leaving wont matter. Everyone seems to think he's having big thoughts about NC State though, so this is good news.

I find it odd that there is an almost 100 page thread on PrickPride, but on the Texas board nobody seems to have any interest. I would think that if Rick were leaving, SOMEONE on that board would have insider news and be sharing. Seems like all the "insiders" are on our side, which makes me believe the rumors less.

first of all ernie is an idiot, don't listen to anything this kid is saying. he is somewhat logical, but he is to definite about everything and has nothing to back up anything he says

i don't know the chances, i would guess maybe 50/50...for all we know he could end up at duke or unc. but if he did want to go somewhere else that isn't texas he would have to sit out a year unless UT let him out of his letter of intent. it would basically be like transferring. from what i hear most schools will release players in situations like this though.

Texas could give a damn about basketball. In an arena that is huge, top 10 team in the country... I think think they averaged like 10,000 people last year.

Forgot about that, they were saying that a press conference was going to be held specifically to annouce Barnes' raise. This is a good sign. Maybe Texas made a new offer and he declined, hence no press conference.
