given how easy it is to just map travel back to megaton and get your stuff repaired for a few caps if you didn't use this mod, I don't find that it makes it any easier in any way. it's just more convenient...instead of taking a few mins to go back to megaton, sell the conductors, scrap metal, etc to get caps and pay for a repair, you just use the stuff to repair in the field.

and not everything repairs everything

Its phat dude, and really has a story to tell to go along with it. I can see them making this into another add-on, say after you free the slaves, then city gains life then you have to maybe defend it or something, or the guy your helping is a snake and you have to go back to kill him. I can see a lot to do with The Pitt after these few quests are over with.

The Pitt is well worth the money in my opinion. The environment is done very well. Tribal power armor looks cool too.

Forget the tribal power armor, I just "borrowed" Ashur's set instead. It was very entertaining ride though a bit easy (my fault for using a level 20 character who, once finding an assault rifle, pretty much made short work of all of God's mutated creation).

Obsidian must be the go to RPG sequel/spinoff to leach money from a successful game.

Point Lookout
Point Lookout is the fourth downloadable content pack, and takes place in Point Lookout State Park in Maryland. Unlike other areas in Fallout, no bombs were dropped on Point Lookout. Humanity has left it behind and it is now described as a large swamp wasteland. Point Lookout is scheduled for a June 2009 release.

Mothership Zeta
Mothership Zeta is the fifth downloadable content pack, and follows the main character after being abducted by aliens. The entire thing takes place on the alien spacecraft. It is set for a July 2009 release.

and all five DLC packs are going to made available for PS3 owners

I actually have hope for this. Obsidian is made up of many people from the original Black Isle Studio.

i picked up the broken steel expansion last night. still not to the content though, because i started a new character (evil this time!). Getting to see a lot of new content, really enjoying it again this time through.

Also helps that i'm going small guns/big guns spec instead of stealth/melee. Getting to actually use vats makes this game so much easier.

The Chinese stealth armor from Op Anchorage has ruined the game for me. Its too easy now, but I can't resist wearing it.

yea, i'm kinda excited for it also... may even be more "fallout" than fallout 3 is because of the people involved.

I bought all 3 of the expansions a few days ago. I'm nearing the end of the Anchorage pack, and while it's playable, it's kind of boring. I'll see how this thing applies to the rest of my FO3 travels (I started the expansions as a level 5 char).

i played this at launch. 27 hours as an evil sniper. ate me some corpses, did some side quests, and finished the main one at lvl 20. was fun, but had no desire to play again. tried to do a good science/big guns guy but it got old quick.

i figured it had been long enough so i popped the disk in and started a super strong female melee character. it is a nice difference. she has as many hp at lvl 4 as i did at lvl 20 with the sniper. sure is difficult in some spots, but its fun and i dont have to worry about ammo, just health packs.

Point Lookout is awesome so far. My guy is level 20 w/100 small guns, and I had to use about 20 stimpacks to beat the first part of the main PLook quest. (On very hard level)

I think it's worth it just for the difficulty. There is also a perk that makes your automatic weapon damage go apeshit, and you can pick up a double barrel shotgun.

My dlc rankings:

1a- Point Lookout
1b-Broken Steel
2-The Pitt
3-Op Anchorage(in a landslide)

i have the ps3 version which is said to have an even worse frame rate than the 360

i got right to the end and started playing COD:WAW

months and months later i popped it in expecting to at least see an update to deal with the game freezing but there wasn't anything

i doubt i will buy any more games on the ps3 from bethesda

they totally shat on it

^^no

i take superb care of my discs

maybe this game just heated the ps3 up more than the others

but i mean after it froze i would just reset and it would run fine

except for the few times it froze multiple times in the span of 30 minutes

Broken Steel and Point Lookout are worth it.

The Pitt is a tossup.

Probably skip OA.

get broken steel first, since it raises the level cap, then get point lookout.

the pitt and anchorage are pretty lame

Just finished Mothership Zeta.

It's actually set up a lot like OA in structure, but much better. For one thing you get to use your own stuff, and keep the stuff looted from your enemies. And you interact with real people, rather than simulations.

I regret selling my 360 now

I loved this game (& series) so damn much it makes me want to use the pipboy character on my obituary portrait.
