^ It was with the VIC....about 2/3 my coupons were BOGOs w/ coupons
examples: biscuits bogo w/ .55 cents coupons on the cans which tripled Viola was bogo and coupons for .75 of 1 Muller's was bogo w/coupons sugar was free (coupon on sugar which triples) some cheese was free (coupon on package that triples) Palmolive dish soap was bogo w/coupons minute maid pom tea & Lemonade blends- coupon on bottle that tripled canned veggies- .75/1 coupon
I am pretty sure last night they let me run over. I was looking at my receipt and all my coupons counted even the ones that made them pay me to take it off of their hands. I did do 20 coupons on my order. 2/8/2009 1:14:31 AM |

even if you had .99 off coupons on every item the most you could save would be 60$ they didnt pay you to take anything cause there computer automatically adjusts and they cant let you use more then twenty on one purchase caues the computer only triples twenty, and then cuts off, and takes the rest of coupons at face value 2/8/2009 9:33:15 AM |

Well on coupons only, I do not know how much I saved. But if you take ~50% off for Vic specials, the coupon savings were the rest. I bought the carrots which were more than 50% off. There were also a few products I bought with the yellow sticks that had HT coupons of $3 off from the meat dept. that didn't count towards my maximum of 20 coupons.
I went to the HT in Cary and the coupons were actually higher than the product as I said last night. In essence there was no cut off at the actual price. So the can of veggies was like .99 cents and I saved 2.25 on it (.75 coupon) I specifically looked at that one on the receipt since it was the most obvious one.
I am about to head to the one in N. Raleigh since I live up here with a few more. I will see if maybe it is a store specific (the capping to the maximum price).

This isnt a coupon deal, but Lowes Foods has Pepsi 6pks (16oz) for $1.57 each. Thats saving me $34.59 over buying 48 drinks out of the drink machine at work.
Does anyone actually do regular grocery shopping at HT, or just go for the deals? Everytime I go in there I see they are charging some outrageous price for something...VIC brings it down to the regular price at other stores. 2/8/2009 8:54:23 PM |

You are either blind, out of your goddamn mind, stupid or all three.
Food dog: I go if something is on sale that makes it worth my time to go to FL HT: produce, and sales + Q Kroger: just about all of my shopping except produce Lowes: Pretty much never. There's not one at all convenient.

Mostly true, but sometimes their VIC deals or the unreal deals are pretty sweet. And the Unreal Deals last a while, too

Lowes Foods to Go + Upromise (where you can add e-coupons to your store card and they deduct at checkout) + paper coupons for the win.
I'm a nerd so I like shopping online better anyways, but this makes it easier to stick to a list and not get distracted.
I'll comparison shop at harris teeter and food lion for last minute things, but so far this Lowes thing has saved me mad cash (The last time I used it I got $85 in groceries for $40) Kroger is kinda hit or miss, and they're out of the way from where I live now so I don't even consider them anymore.

Food Lion: I will not shop there unless I need milk and it is next to the gym. I have had terrible problems with their meat and produce quality. I have had to use their guarantee SEVERAL times. I never do bulk shopping there because of it. Price wise I find decent if they have the product. Their selection is crap.
Harris Teeter: Good selection. I always shop there given the chance. A little more expensive I would guess.
Lowes: I put this in the same level as FL. I did find out it was owned by the same peeps so I am not surprised. It seems that I never get as many groceries as I can elsewhere. They stopped letting you pay for the order with greenpoints and that really messed up last time I went.
SuperWalmart: Have the best prices on their over stock stuff. This week they have the soup I eat which normal price is a dollar instead of 2.49. Decent selection. ALWAYS PACKED. Kinda of more expensive on the necessities, but cheaper on the other stuff. If I go there, I will go at 3 am. It is right next to my house.
Kroger: I am so mixed about this store. I constantly am having love-hate relationships with it. Sometimes it is unbeatable and other times it isn't worth it.
When I shop, I only ever buy the deals unless it is bread & milk. My husband and I are not picky and will eat whatever is BOGO or on super sale. We freeze a lot to make it last (examples include: lunch meat, bacon, sausage, etc.) We overbuy the soups and can goods & cereal and store them (We have 7 boxes in the pantry). For meat, I usually buy the manager's special or the chicken breasts in the bag when they are BOGO.
The real reason I wanted to post: My husband was at FL getting orange juice and I was walking around. They have those BOOST smoothies on closeout. They are marked down from 8.99 to 3.49 for a package. The 1.00 coupon which is in the machine by them works on it. I don't know if anyone here drinks them. 2/11/2009 11:27:23 PM |

I went to my normal place to get my stash of Q's this week and none were to be had...but it gave me some time to get my notebook back in order.
CVS is doing the Buy One, Get On for a penny and got four boxes of cereal, two poptarts, gatorades, and some other random things and it cost $14....BUT, I caught a mistake on my receipt-One box of cereal rang up full instead of as a penny even though the ad said Limit 4...so watch your receipts!!! 2/15/2009 7:38:32 PM |

^Oh, I found my mistake...the boyfriend grabbed the BIG box of raisin bran crunch instead of the 15 oz box of raisin bran so that it why it didn't work.
Also, if you buy any two neutrogene products, you get $10 ECB...Well, the Neutrogena facial bar soap works for this deal and it only costs 2.99 for the 3.5 size! I got the original bars and out printed my ECB!
So, you spend 2.99 x 2= 5.98
Earn $10 ECB - 5.98 = 4.02 Profit!
I bought two HIP eye powders 11.99, two soaps, 5.98, some nail polish and lip gloss ~$5, and some random $ items...used $5 off $25, 2 $2 Q's for HIP, 1 $2 Q for lip stuff, and $12 in ECBs that were about to expire and spent $3.50 OOP, made back $12.

here's what you do
Lend them your card for their shopping trip. Let them buy what they want. They will use your ECBs (they will give you cash for the ECBs). It's a win/win/win.
You get cash for your ECBs. They buy things they want at CVS w/ your ECBs. Whatever they buy go towards your quarterly ECBs spending (you get 2% of your spending back every 4 months in ECB form). 2/17/2009 4:25:30 PM |
