^ yeah, but the bears will probably rest so gb is basically a lock. i dont trust the giants to win, but tb needs both to lose. theyd be in if they had beat det and this score holds. still, 10-6 after rebuilding is damn good, playoffs or not

why lol

the lions are a good team that lost a majority of their games by very small margins. If stafford can stay healthy and they have another good draft, they will be pretty good in the next two years.

Well I'm supportive of the Lions, no doubt. Just funny how far the Vikings have fallen this season.

Go Seattle. Just so that a 7-9 team will make the playoffs and host an opening round game.

God the NFC West blew this year. All four teams were net negative points.

"Of course, that was an issue [turnovers] with the Browns all year, and it started with Jake Delhomme. He was supposed to solidify a position so unstable that in 2009 Mangini won five games with his quarterbacks completing a total of 33 passes in those victories. So the Browns imported Delhomme, and he responded by committing a raft of errors -- including two interceptions in the season-opening loss to Tampa Bay, a game where the Browns blew a 14-3 lead. ^ Houston has a lot of young talent on defense. Cushing, Mario, Demeco, Okoye, etc. Phillips could be the right hire to bring this bunch together. The secondary is awful, but the front two lines have a lot of potential.

Quote :
"Antonio Pierce raises possibility of playoff strike

In November 2009, we posted that there were rumors flying that the players would stage a playoff strike.

Though we explained that a strike would be illegal and ill-advised and thus highly unlikely, the reaction to the mere suggestion of a playoff strike provoked a strong reaction.

“To be blunt, it’s a flat-out, bald-faced, capital-letters lie,” former Patriots linebacker Adalius Thomas told Jason Cole of Yahoo! Sports at the time. “We’re not the ones who are interested in not playing. We want to play. We’re not going on strike. We signed this agreement and we’re fine with it. We’re happy. We don’t want to stop playing football.”

The union declined to comment at the time on the situation, which made us wonder whether the union had assessed the situation and opted against a postseason walkout.

Now, a guy who played for the Giants in 2009 and who now works for ESPN has suggested in a series of tweets that players should “stand up” and walk out now, given that they possess maximum leverage. (Antonio Pierce has since claimed he did not “urge” players to strike, but we think his Twitter page speaks for itself.)

As we explained it in 2009, the Collective Bargaining Agreement plainly states that a strike by the players or a lockout by the owners is not permitted during the term of the deal. And since the deal currently lasts through the end of the current season, the players simply can’t refuse to work.

Any strike before March 4 would be illegal, and the players would face multi-million-dollar fines and damages awards, if the action ultimately were to disrupt the postseason and prevent playoff games from occurring. (The league has commented on the illegality of a playoff strike at NFLLabor.com.)

When we posted the prior item regarding talk of a 2009 playoff strike, we were accused by some of being irresponsible for merely mentioning that the possibility was being discussed. It’ll be interesting to see whether Pierce has to answer any tough questions within ESPN — the network that abandoned a fictional show about pro football when pressured by the league to do so — for recklessly, in our view, encouraging players to consider a blatantly illegal action.

But, hey, at least Pierce didn’t call anyone sweet cakes."

I really hope the rumors that I've heard about John Fox being on the Cleveland Browns list of prospective coaches turns out to be nothing more than a rumor. As a Browns AND Panthers fan the idea of Jake and Fox both moving to Cleveland makes me nauseous. All the Browns need right now is a coach who will feel obligated to start Jake for every single game even though they have a very promising looking QB in McCoy

lol Carlson with the fake out trip.

Looked like he was tripping, the defender held up, then he kept going and caught the pass.

Probably wasn't intentional but it was funny.

I think the Jets are going to beat the Colts bad... just too many reliable players out for the Colts which is what Manning would need against a defense like the Jets... any slight difference in route or timing will completely fuck you against them. Jets by 14
