What a fucking horrible last three days for the Braves. They lose two straight to the fucking Cubs, one game blowing a big lead, tonight they blow another lead and will lose to a team in the Wild Card chase, Hanson goes on the DL, Uggla's hit streak is snapped, and Ernie Johnson dies. I feel like a Mets fan.

Delgado looks like the real fucking deal. Haven't seen a lot of Teheran or Vizcaino, but Delgado looks like he could end up being the best of all the young pitchers, including JJ.

^^^ His defense this year has been stout. I'll give him that, but watching Gonzalez hit in clutch situations is like closing your eyes and waiting for a nut punch.

Nice win last night. Miguel Prado (as ESPN radio called him. I guess if you're not playing football who the fuck cares anyway right?) with the big hit. Delgado was lights out and Vizcainio was great as well. Why the hell are we still using Lowe?

^^^ B/c he's making $15 million a year. No other team would dare take on a contract like that for an aging veteran (albeit durable) who is very inconsistent, mostly subpar. You're not going to owe a player that much money and just sit him on the bench. Plus he's always proven he can be lockdown near the end of the season, he was fantastic last September and in the playoffs, so I wouldn't be surprised by more of the same this year. But I would say we definitely need to trade him somehow by start of next year so we can put either minor, delgado, or teheran in the rotation. We would still have hudson, hanson, jurrjens, and beachy, so I wouldn't be surprised if we traded someone else also to fill another need.

^ Of course I realize he is untraded, but at best he should be in long relief in blowouts or possibly in 10-12 day spot starts. He has no business getting a start every 5th day. Yeah he was good down the stretch last season, but that was due to a mechanical adjustment he made that ain't happening this year. He sucks and is a liability if we have other, better options.

Big series for the Braves considering the Giants and/or Cards will be the likely biggest Wild Card threats down the stretch. Another big series with the D-backs coming up. Let's bury the NL West.

Minor was outstanding tonight, great to see him have an outing like that. Sounds like Moylan will be back in two weeks and Kimbrel is now just three saves away from tying Neftali Feliz's rookie saves record. Imagine how good this Braves team could be had we not given away the farm system to get Teixeria. Freeman and Kimbrel may have to split the ROY award.

Among all closers, Kimbrel has the most saves (37), highest K/9 (14.2, nearly 2 more than #2), fourth-lowest WHIP (0.97), and second lowest BAA (.171, Sergio Santos is the only other guy below .200). Cut down on the walks a bit and he could be da greatest.

^ Absolutely amazing stats. Seriously the only time he has trouble is when his command is off. Kind of like Wohlers during his 2-3 year dominant stretch. Dude was lights out unless his control was a little off. I hope Kimbrel can stay healthy though. His mechanics are weird.
