You should also try dietary changes. My SIL did that and her pcos is much more manageable now.

2^up, yes. I, too, have dat 190 percent PCOS

and dietary changes are ftw too. cutting down on your carb intake (especially simple carbs) and eating low glycemic index foods will really help a lot of your symptoms. mom says she can tell when I'm eating properly because I look less bloated, and my skin and hair look a lot better.

The worst thing about being gluten free is having regular periods now. Before I'd only have one every 3 months or so, longest between was 9 months (no, not preggo).

Ever since i upped my water intake to about 5 liters a day, I have noticed a lot less dry skin. Winter is always the defining moment for me though. My boyfriend's sister stopped by yesterday and asked if I had any lotion and I had to scrounge around the house to find some

Upping my water intake definitely helped A LOT! But I just love smelling pretty and never think to put on perfume. Plus a lot of them are a little overwhelming. So these provide me a way to smell nice and moisturize at the same time! And I am so finicky, I never have to smell the same twice in a row. I like being able to choose a scent that matches my mood

This, this right here is the best lotion EVARRRRR!!!!

It has a light, clean scent and a little goes a long way. I use it mostly in the winter and every now and then in the warmer months.

Ok so for my Halloween costume this year I'm going to have to wear a strapless bodysuit/swimsuit/shapewear. (Something like http://www.americanapparel.com/rsa8325.html?cid=30) I'm decorating over it, so you won't see the fabric. I just got to thinking that this will suck for when I have to use the bathroom.

Do any of you guys wear anything like this on a regular basis...like Spanx? Does it royally suck to fumble around with when you use the bathroom?

Spanx actually come with a crotch flap that opens

I never use it, granted, but it's there in case you have to pee and can't take it off (I only have one of the power panty type things, which are easy to take off briefly while in the bathroom)

but I assume that bodysuit you mentioned has nothing of the sort, so yeah, it will suck

Bodysuit/swimsuit should be fine.

But shapewear could be about as obnoxious as a wet swimsuit...all the way on up to you tryna rip a pee hole in it after you've had three beers/had to go twice. You'd want to make sure to get a size that was just for a snug fit, not for actual shaping.

And, depending on what you got, you could try to pull it to the side while you hover.

I got some great stuff at LOFT this week

I particularly love this dress

(I know it's not way different or anything but it makes my tatties look great and it's a very pretty gray color... almost metallic but not quite)

and I got the skirt in this picture:
http://www.loft.com/loft/outfitdetail/LF11015M/Lace-Strip-Dolman-Sleeve-Top/cat520084/261059

and then I got these (all was on sale... I saved almost $100 WOOT - and I got EIGHT of those "spend $50 get $25" cards for later):

in beige.. love the zipper in the back

not quite this one but something similar (same shirt style w/ the 3/4 length sleeves but with lace going down the buttons instead of ruffles)

in white

and then my Mad Men-esque dress

in green

(I also got a tank top and a regular shirt, and some fancy bobbi pins)

I am stalking these as well:

LOL at the youngest son

Didn't he go all goth after Home Improvement and marry his mananger that was like 20 years older than him?

Quote :
"In 2001, at age 17, he married Heidi Van Pelt, a 33-year-old woman (they are shown together in the first picture below). He also sued his parents for control of a $1.5 million trust fund created with his Home Improvement earnings that his parents were pilfering. It’s unclear as to whether Smith married Van Pelt to get away from his parents, cover up the fact that he’s gay, or whether he indeed feel in love with her. One thing that is certain, however, is that Smith is a grease-ball who hasn’t washed his face or hair since about 1989"

missoni is known for that chevron knit, as well as a wavy knit....basically known for awesome knit patterns

to see it in person, real missoni, is pretty fantastic

its not for everyone though

I'd love to see the quality of the target line (almost makes me sad..like when target bastardized the liberty print)

They just put it in stores today, and it's going like crazy! I love real Missoni as well, but honestly given the uniqueness of each pattern, it's not super practical to buy any piece (aside from accessories) at the true cost because it is beyond obvious if you wear it often. A M for Missoni (their "cheap" line) dress is around $600.

I think it's great to bring the option to the masses. I got a dress because I thought it'd be something fun to have.

Target has struck GOLD.

This article makes me LOL:

Quote :
"Missoni Madness broke out across the country as Target Corp.’s 400-piece discount collection of clothes and home furnishings from the Italian fashion house hit stores and went online Tuesday.

Women lined up well ahead of 8 a.m. store openings to be the first to grab scarves, dresses and bedding with the iconic and colorful Missoni chevrons.

By 9 a.m. many stores had sold out of everything.

A Dallas Target store only had a few throw pillows, ballet flats and baby clothes left two hours after the store opened, a manager said, adding. “It was a disaster in here this morning.”

Traffic to Target’s website was so brisk it crashed the site in the morning and was still down several hours later. Target apologized for the inconvenience and said it was trying to get the site back up, according to a statement.

Read the story behind Missoni and Target’s collaboration.

Melanie Cortese, a mother of two, was at Target in Union, N.J., at 9 a.m. and was surprised to see the parking lot so packed. She was there to buy her daughter a new Barbie DVD and could barely negotiate the aisles for all the carts full of “clothes with bright squiggly lines.”

A woman on line ahead of Ms. Cortese had at least $1,000 worth of the Missoni clothing and bedding in her cart and explained she had five daughters.

“I knew Missoni was coming but didn’t know it would be such a big deal,” Ms. Cortese said. “I have never seen such well-dressed, well-coifed, tan, yoga-looking moms at Target at 9 a.m.”

"

http://blogs.wsj.com/runway/2011/09/13/missoni-madness-at-target/

And the comments are even better:

Quote :
"Nicholas Ryan wrote:

Craig S wrote:

."

And now everything's on ebay! hahahahahaha

Quote :
"Shoppers swarmed Target Tuesday morning for the much-anticipated Missoni collection, picking shelves clean within an hour -- in some cases, minutes -- of the 8 a.m. opening, and crashing the Target website for several hours.

As of noon, the Target site was working intermittently, and some of the items were already sold out.

The collection includes clothing, bedding, housewares, stationery, luggage and an extremely covetable bicycle in the Italian designer house's signature zig-zags. Tweets from all over the country indicated frenzied buying and empty racks. An hour after the Hackensack store's 8 a.m. opening, only a few acid green corduroy overcoats remained of the entire women's collection, a few melamine plates and three comforters. Shoppers milled about the aisles waiting for workers to deliver more goods and grabbed what they could, ripping boxes open themselves.

After the intial frenzy, bartering: A woman traded a pair of girls' Wellington-style boots for a zippered zig-zag cardigan; another passed on a sweater likely too big for her daughter for a black-and-white striped rug. "My husband is going to divorce me," said one shopper who appeared to have cleared out the women's department. "He's like, 'I wear real Missoni."

Items from the collection have already started popping up on eBay at much higher prices, in some cases four times . A candle that sells for $12.99 is now being offered for $49.99 -- buy it now for $89.99! -- and a travel tote that retails for $49.99 already had 12 bids (as of this writing, it's $56)

Workers at the Hackensack store say there may be more deliveries over the next couple of days.
