When Jor-El said that there was still one trial that Clark hadn't done, I thought he was gonna tell him about the "spin the earth backwards" trick. And why didn't Clark just go about the events of the day the exact same way, but just set his watch alarm to go off at like 10:55 so he could go save Lana. What an idiot.

That was my thought at first. But if you notice, Clark said something along the lines of "she only knew my secret for one day and that got her killed" In his mind her knowing = her dying and no matter what he did otherwise the only way he could have saved her life was to not tell her.

Yeah it doesn't exactly make tons of sense to me, but then again if I had powers like that I'd pretty much so tell everyone about them anyways. Fuck keeping secrets, I'm superman bitches.

Remember back to 2-3 seasons ago. We found out that Lionel helped the Kents get a fake Birth Certificate for Clark.... He didn't know exactly WHY they needed it, but he helped them obtain one.
I am 90% sure this is what he was going to bribe Pa Kent with. He showed him the birth certificate (or a copy) and he probably knows a little more about Clark now...from investigations and such...
