insane: kroger (yes, the grocery store) has makeup (maybelline, loreal, and cover girl) for 25-50+ percent off. less loreal on sale than the others.

I picked up some of the new maybelline creme blush i'd been wanting to try for $3.24.

So, I've been using a pricey straightening balm for a while. Ditto with a smoothing balm after I dry my hair. I'm running low on the straightening balm, so I decided to see which cheap ones are viable options for switching to.

It's so good I don't need the smoothing balm afterwards! God, it's great. So, just a headsup.

Also, Suave's root lifting hairspray is pretty damn good, but smells reminiscent of a rotting possum.

And here's more jibber jabber from "health experts" about the dangers of high heeled shoes.

Quote :
"Fashion conscious must weigh high-heeled hazards
HOUSTON -- (January 12, 2007) -- Does looking chic leave your feet screaming for help? Listen to them -- not fashion pundits – for a change, says a foot and ankle expert.

Dr. John Marymont, associate professor of orthopedic surgery at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, said that wearing a two-inch heel subjects the ball of your foot to 50 percent more pressure than flat shoes.

High-heeled shoes do not usually have a foot-friendly design.

"High heels can cause bunions, hammer toes and neuromas — problems accounting for more than a billion dollars a year in healthcare costs," said Marymont.

The American Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Society, of which Marymont is a member, suggests the following when considering high-heeled shoes:

Don't choose a shoe based on its marked size; sizes vary among types of shoes and brands.
Select a shoe similar to the shape of your foot.
Try on high heels at the end of the day when your feet are at their biggest.
The shorter the heel, the better.
Limit wearing high heels to special occasions.
Make sure your heel fits comfortably within the shoe with minimal slippage.
In other words, put your best foot forward by lending an ear to those podiatric pleas. Your feet will thank you for listening."

^ That's one of those things that I believe but I wouldn't necessarily change my habits because of it. My mom used to wear heels all the time and now her feet are really messed up. I don't wear them that often anyway, though.

i heard some crazy nonsense that wearing heels all the time also messes up your calves and after years of wear can make running near impossible...it was some knowledge bomb my uber feminist friend dropped on us one day over coffee while discussing sexual deviance.

I wear heels to work every day, and have for at least the past 5 years. Can't say my calves are screwed up, but I will say that standing in flats makes the back of my legs/knees burn.

Here's a question: I went on a date w/ a girl Sunday, and think it went pretty well. I resolved to ask her out again on Tuesday, via IM. She was idle when I logged on, so I set an alert to inform me when she came back from being idle.

Then, when she did return, I stupidly moved the mouse, so that I returned from idle. That is, I went unidle about a minute after she did. Was this creepy, and if so, how creepy? She signed off a couple minutes later, before I had a chance to ask her.

Any help you could render a socially-inept loser would be greatly appreciated.

I'm not really sure, maybe someone else can tell you more, which is what the ? is for. I would bet that they have nice ladies sunglasses, though.

Assuming you're being serious, chill out. Chances are she didn't notice. Relax and stop freaking out about tiny details. If stuff like being idle makes you spazz, relationship problems will give you ulcers.
