I've looked around... has anyone found post-game quotes from Bruce on why he didn't use the last sub?

Italy-U.S. Gets High Overnight TV Rating
It's Best for World Cup Match Since 1998 Final
AP
NEW YORK (June 18) - The ratings for the 1-1 tie between the United States and Italy on Saturday got the highest overnight rating for a World Cup game on ABC since the 1998 championship game.

The game, which began at 3 p.m. EDT, got a 5.2 rating, the highest since the '98 final between Brazil and France got a 7.0.

The 2002 World Cup was held in South Korea and Japan, meaning most of the games were on in the middle of the night or in the very early morning.

The rating is the percentage of all homes with TVs, whether or not they are in use.

If he wasn't Ronaldo, he wouldn't have started either game.

what is up with the Togo players making all these demands? where did they get this leverage?

what did Fifa do to stop them from boycotting? looks like it was all verbal

Seeing as nothing like this has ever happened before, I'm willing to bet that ol' Sepp called the captain and threatened to ban the players from any major FIFA-sanctioned competition in the future and ban Togo from the World Cup for ~20 years if not more.

Oh snap!

New rumor: Jermaine Jenas may get a start in England's midfield against Sweden.

I still wasnt that impressed with Beasley when he came on as a sub.. i dont see him getting the start just because I dont know where they would play him, unless they change the formation. Pablo was playing as more of a defensive minded midfielder but i dont know who we have that could play that position.

And another weird punch when he had three yards of clear space on each side.

He looks as uncomfortable as Kingston did in his first match.

Well, that was an ass kicking. It will be interesting to see how bad Spain beats the Saudis in a few days. Anyway, it's a good thing I finally picked a captain that actually did something (Shevchenko sp?). Now, it's time for the Jose +10 commercial.

Damn, didn't see that coming

1-0 Tunisia

^Looking at the lineups, not today. I have decent guys in there most days, I just end up making the wrong guy captain. For once, I got it right, and the DreamTeam06 should move up some.

GG.

Newman: I'm not beaten yet. I still have armies in the Ukraine.

Kramer: Ha ha, the Ukraine. Do you know what the Ukraine is? It's a sitting duck. A road apple, Newman. The Ukraine is weak. It's feeble. I think it's time to put the hurt on the Ukraine.

Excellent game

I would have liked to have seen the Swiss-Togo game. I think the Togo team was a bunch of assholes for threatening to extort more money from FIFA, and I would have liked to have seen them lose.

que?

they wanted more money from their own Togo Football Federation, not FIFA.

and nothing that's come out has suggested that FIFA help the togo football federation financially

^ It's more likely they hadn't been paid at all. African soccer associations have a reputation for being very corrupt.

WTF, did I see a confederate flag in the middle of all the Spanish flags after one of those goals?

Quote :

Haha, I've watched that once or twice for laughs. Those announcers get into it a little too much.

Edit: V It just struck me as odd.

^ In Europe it's a symbol meaning "rebel". I don't think it has any racist overtones there.

which game is played first, the US Ghana game or the Italy Czech game? I just have a bad feeling if the US Ghana game is first, we will win, but Czech will beat Italy and we wont advance...and if the Italy Czech game is first, Italy will win and then Ghana will beat us...but I hope not

They play at the same time.. I imagine they do this so teams can't arrange a result to help both teams..

Today there are only 2 games that matter.. the other 2 are 'for pride' games..

England - Sweden can't wait for this one.

Are these the only two teams in the Cup sponsored by Umbro?
