usually in OT, especially in the playoffs, you dont call a pentalty that doesnt directly affect a scoring chance. the call on weight was bullshit.

well it's obvious they got homefries for that game. Even when we were down we gave them so much shit to think about at the end. Good game by Buffalo, but those OT penalties while maybe not costing the game 100%, were daggers that totally went to Buffalos favor. Any northern or Canadian team will get all hussied over by the media and NHL at large but this bitch aint over yet.
I expect, no....am certain, we will see the Canes coming out on an absolute frenzy when this bitch comes back to Raleigh. 5/30/2006 10:49:15 PM |

mshaul is quick to scurry out of the woodwork with the sabres win. he hides in shame win the sabres lose. the refs did what they had to do to get it to 7 games. buffalo couldn't do it without help. they blew a 3-1 lead in game 5; refs gave them a bullshit penalty heading into OT and still couldn't get it done. they blow their lead in game 6. it took another bullshit OT penalty along with a blatant no-call to get the job done. hopefully the refs will decide to stay neutral in game 7. if they do, the canes will win. 5/30/2006 10:55:45 PM |

the weight play was definetly a penalty. It was a blatant penalty, in clear view for everyone in the stadium and tv land to see, it should've been called, hands down.
with that said, what a game by cam ward. He was stellar tonight. I hope the sabres can put some more of their chances in the net during game 7. What a fantastic series. 5/30/2006 11:08:46 PM |

the weight penalty didn't hurt. no doubts they would have killed that except for the no-call. buffalo hadn't scored on a power play in forever (seemed like forever) 5/30/2006 11:14:14 PM |

there were a bunch a missed calls for both teams. Canes need to come up with more energy in the first period. Williams was hooked or pulled down on a hold by briere which freed him up for the shot that was almost stopped by Cam.
I just feel that its us vs the entire hockey world. Everybody is rooting for Buffalo, since it is a Northern town. I don't understand how Florida hockey teams are ok but a team in North Carolina is not worthy of hockey. 5/30/2006 11:18:14 PM |

The only reason that Weight's hit was a penalty was because of the way that guy fell down. He was close enought to the boards that it wasnt a dangerous hit and he did not hit him straight from behind. Hell....he didnt even get a good lick on him...just kinda stuck out his ass and hit him sideways. I mean call it boarding if you want to, but I call it stupid fag couldnt stay on his feet. It had no effect on the play either, where the no-call later was total bullshit and had an immediate impact on the play....costing us the game. 5/30/2006 11:20:31 PM |

Which is why Weight hitting him from behind in the first place was unnecessary. He probably went down a little easy, but the main thing in my mind was there was no need to hit him.
just my opinion.

what officially is boarding? From the calls that I have seen all season i interpreted it as a hit from behind with the intent to injure.
yeah bad calls are part of the game.. they go both ways hopefully.
We all know that when your back is against the wall it is mentally draining. This is why game 5's wins are so important. yeah they barely forced game 7. But this series has been relatively even matched all over the ice no matter the score. I think that we will come out ready to play and they will either bring it or they wont. if we can get some puck movement and some pucks in on miller. It won't matter if we have to kill a penalty...
ps i was there for the game 5 winner.. nice! 5/30/2006 11:44:58 PM |

Officially, boarding is hitting someone who is facing the boards, but far enough away that they're defenseless from the standpoint of cushioning the hit. 5/31/2006 12:01:36 AM |

Weight made a mental mistake. It was going to be called to make up for the Dumont penalty in Raleigh. If you think Briere didn't get away with a hook that led to his goal your crazy. 5/31/2006 9:34:24 AM |

The refs missed good calls and made shitty calls both ways through the whole game. Was that last no-call important? Well, if they make it play stops instead of the game-winning goal, so yeah. It was a shitty no-call on a night with non-biased but very shitty officiating. It just happened to be more poorly timed than the rest.
Everyone except me predicted 7 games anyway, so why the bitching? You get to be right.

No. The Dumont hook was marginal, just like Weight's board was marginal.
There was no uncalled penalty on the Canes that cancelled a clear and opened up lanes for Stillman to score. 5/31/2006 4:50:02 PM |

the fact of the matter is briere was just feathering the puck towards the net, didn't hit it hard and you goalie couldn't grab the puck, he tried and let the puck by so if you want to blame someone, try looking at your own players before you blame the refs, you had several opportunities at the end of the game to win and miller came up big, get over it and get ready for game 7, i'll be there in support of my team, will you be there in support of yours or will you be talking shit on this message board all night long? 5/31/2006 8:07:35 PM |
