so i did the racing multiplayer last night and whoever said they've never heard people laughing on XBL before was right

it was fun as shit and hilarious at the same time

at one point like 6 of the dudes got out of their cars in the middle of the race to throw down over whow was going to jack the lambo

found my first helicopter yesterday and WOW...the visual effects of this game from an arial point of view makes flight simulator 2008 look like a early 90's arcade shooter.


I don't understand why anyone needs cheat codes to get a chopper. They're right fucking there on the main island as soon as you unlock it. about 5 or 6 of them all on the same pier.

has anyone gotten the achievement yet for flying under all 14 bridges? I flew under 1 before crashing on the 2nd

Yeah, this game really could have used checkpoints inside missions. Again, archaic game design. Still fun as hell though.

Guess I could have posted here about Snow Storm...(SPOILER)



























This one busted my balls yesterday too. Once you clear the thugs out of the warehouse and grab the blow go out of that room, take a left and run down that hallway. Blast the 3 SWAT team guys in the big room, run outside and take out 2 more. You need a Patriot to make your escape. It runs over cop cars with ease. (I made the mistake of a bike and that slow truck that's there a few times.) When you get onto the main island go for the pay and spray across it but just drive strait and fast and by the time you hit the other side you should be out of harms way...

i was halfway disappointed that when I had about a 3-4 star wanted level and I went into my safe house, putting on a pair of glasses and a hat didn't completely get rid of my wanted level

i didnt try to save, i was just messing around doing various things, getting a feel for the game

i thought in past games if you changed up your outfit, even minimally, you'd lose your wanted level because adding a pair of glasses was sure to make cops completely not recognize you

^^^actually, now that you mention it, i was playing the final leg of San Andreas the other night and I had on a blue suit with a derby hat and shades to match. Got up a 4star and went to change. Took my hat and shades off and the wanted level remained.

so maybe it was a more drastic change needed, like new pants and shirt. I dont remember other times during that game though.

he was right outside my safehouse. Everytime I loaded the game or went to save I'd hear someone yelling so i set out to find out where they were and found him right across the street lol. didn't even notice him at first.

I've got a PMP 600 (the one that looks like a Chrysler 300C), a Banshee (Viper) that I took from that kid Faustien had me kill, and a Hellfury motorcycle.

I'm only about 13% completion so far, haven't unlocked the other islands yet. but this game is sweet.

^they did improve the graphics. there is a huge difference between GTA3, vc, sa and GTA4.

play in HD and take a helicopter ride or boat ride around the city. enough said, honestly.

Yeah you can get as many as you can fit on there. Seems like you can fit 2 normal sized vehicles and probably 2 bikes, but they would be pretty tightly packed in there.

go to the South East corner of the main island (manhattan look-a-like) You will see a guided tour place where you can either A) jack the choppers or B) pay $150 for a guided tour of the city (which is pretty cool to do first time around)

i have 7 bridges left for the achievement.


^yeah HD vs SD makes a HUGE difference in this game. I have to play on SD when I record but when i'm on my DLP or LCD its amazing

You definitely get more safehouses as the game goes on. I have 1 in Alderney, 2 in Algonquin and 1 in Bohan. I'm also almost 60% through the game though so... Let me just say that you aren't guaranteed 2 in Algonquin, it's one of the choices you can make during a mission. It should be fairly obvious how to get it when you come to that part of the story so I won't go into details, but an extra safehouse is one of the perks for choosing a certain way.

I have like 4 bridges left, but I can't find any more that a helicopter is actually physically able to go under... and I'm an exceptional helicopter pilot.

Man, I REALLY wish they had updated the pay and spray.

It would be nice if it had included some of the customization features from Saints Row, but hell I would be happy if they let you choose the color.
