QB this week: (pick 2) Grossman vs. Dallas Garrard @ Denver Pennington vs. Miami (also have Kellen Clemens in case he can't go)
RB(pick 2 in case Westbrook can't go) Ronnie Brown @ NYJ(tired of starting him looking for decent numbers) Marshawn Lynch @ NE(another tough defense for the youngster) Ladell Betts vs. NYG(not getting the touches) DeShaun Foster @ Atl Cedric Benson vs. Dallas
leaning toward Grossman(although I hate seeing his name in my starting lineup) and Garrard... and Cedric Benson and Ronnie Brown

People are not liking their teams and dropping various players...who should I pick up?
Kevin Jones, Chester Taylor, Brandon Jackson, Kevin Curtis, David Garrard,
I'm leaning toward K Jones for depth.
Also is Dominic Rhodes worth picking up? He is coming off suspension soon but L Jordan has been running pretty well, so I am not sure if he is going to play much at all since he will most likely be out of shape and not familiar to the offense yet.
1 more WR question though, Andre Johnson is hurt. Do I pick up J Jones for either GB or Hou? Or do I start A Gonzalez with my 3 wr set of S Holmes and Roy Williams?

Pick two:
Rudi Johnson @ SEA Willie Parker vs. SF Lamont Jordan vs. CLE 9/20/2007 8:51:41 AM |

^Willie is a must start every week with the way they are riding him.
And I really like Rudi, but Lamont has a great match-up and I think Cleveland will hone in on stopping the pass after last week's debacle. So I say go with Lamont. 9/20/2007 8:55:00 AM |

^^^with those guys on your WW, I would go with the high upside possibilities...so I would go with KJ or C.Taylor. Tatum Bell is already falling out of favor with Mike Martz it seems like, and Adrian Peterson is injury-prone.
I would start Jacoby over Gonzalez this week, with Andre out.
^^That is a really tough call..they are all sort of in "must start" situations..I'd go
PPR: Rudi and Jordan no PPR: Rudi and Parker

how come everybody thinks a couple unproven Texans receivers are going to be solid fantasy starts against the Colts' defense? 9/20/2007 9:10:08 AM |
Turnip All American 5426 Posts user info edit post |
^Would you really start A. Gonzalez over him? He hasn't done anything this year. Schaub has improved the Texans offense immensely, and someone has to catch his throws. He is unproven, but the kid is exciting, and the other WRs for Houston have proven to be WR3's (real NFL) at best. Don't get me wrong, I think Jacoby is just a WR3 (12-team fantasy league) at best, and that's with Andre out..but he is a better start than A-gon.

^OK, I'm going to start Willie and Lamont because I have Rudi in another league that I can start. I figure it's one of those win-win situations no matter what b/c SF (T-16th), SEA (T-16th), and CLE (29th) have had some or a lot of difficulty stopping the run.
Plus, PIT & OAK are playing at home, so I figured those two would play well. I know it's kind of crazy considering how CIN scored 40+ last week, but I figured if they did it again, it would be through Carson's arm (even though Rudi had a receiving TD last week). 9/20/2007 10:11:33 AM |

Here is a new question. Donald Driver against SD or Donte Stallworth against Buffalo? I am gonna kick my own ass if Stallworth has a big game (after two games where he was non existent) against a buffalo team that is not good. Meanwhile green bay is playing against a tough san diego defense that is gonna be pissed after they got embarrassed by new england. 9/20/2007 10:11:38 AM |
Panthro All American 7333 Posts user info edit post |
Why in God's name would you play Stallworth over Driver?
This is going to be like last week where the Pats throw for the first half (at most) then just run Maroney and Sammy Morris into the ground.
The Packers will have to throw to stay in it, and its televised locally here.
Start Driver and Watch the game!

I got it in my head that Stallworth is gonna be this super sleeper* when I picked him up off waivers before the season. So now every halfway decent chance I get where he might blow up, I want to throw him in there.
Also with Johnson sitting out this week, I am gonna need more points from the other WRs I have on board.
*for my league where people dont know shit.

Pick 1:
Delhomme vs. Atl Young vs. NO
I would go with Delhomme but after seeing whats been done to David over the first couple of weeks I am tempted to start Young, especially since no one on Carolina can catch a pass but Smitty.

Darrell Jackson @ Pittsburgh Devin Hester vs. Dallas (who said they will kick away from Hester) Ted Ginn Jr. @ NYJ
or should I pick up James Jones (vs. Chargers) or Joe Jurevicius (@ Oakland) from waivers?

At this point I'd wait for Stallworth to prove himself. Brady isn't even hardly looking his way and he's by far a distant 3rd/4th option behind Moss and Welker. I'd bench his ass until he begins to produce...I had Stallworth a few years ago and he did seem produce around midseason so it might pay off to be patient, although I dumped his ass b/c someone in my league dropped Braylon Edwards, who I was able to pick up. 9/20/2007 10:19:44 PM |

I have Willie Parker in one running back slot, but I have one of 3 guys to play in the other. They are:
Tatum Bell @ PHI Clinton Portis vs. NYG Warrick Dunn vs. CAR
Who is looking like the best pick? I'm leaning towards Portis right now due to the Giants having the weaker Defense and allowing more points than the other defenses.
I also have Duece McAllister, but he has been pretty unproductive so far this year (yeah I know, only two weeks). I plan on keeping him on my roster for now. 9/21/2007 6:22:03 AM |
