that ending probably took a year or two off my life, but that was just fantastic and amazing, crowd noise was alright except for when things weren't going so well, and, honestly, that is the time the team needs the support the most
but when we were doing well or needed defensive stops that crowd was amazing, I never expected to see damn near the entire stadium jumping up and down and shouting like we do at basketball games for that last stand to stop carolina for the win

Man .. ill tell you what ... Watching this game from the 40 yard line on Row "O" is now one of my favorite sports experiences of all time...
The fans around me were incredible, standing the whole time, going crazy and talking about football the whole time...
I hope my athletics hook up never has to leave!!! Not to mention, selling the seats next to me for 250 to some guy that never came back after halftime made a nice bonus as well.
Heres to free football tickets ... may they never dry up!

^5 yeah I just knew there was gonna be some pass interference bs right at the end just like that end-game bullshit three years ago when they decided to take ta mcclendon's last minute touchdown for the win off the boards
but it never happened, I honestly couldnt believe it but when the entire stadium just started flipping their shit and the whole team rushed the field i knew it was true
feels good, feels damn good

yeah ... my freshman year (00-01) I was tied for first in the SWPC, so I had front row of the student section for every fball game... That was pretty awesome as well.
The view is better from mid field, but the atmosphere is more fun with the students, obviously. 11/10/2007 5:40:13 PM |

these damn refs seriously need their asses kicked. No call on running into the kicker, countless no calls on holding, waved off intentional grounding the clearly did not cross the LOS and no receiver was even close. And I was definitely expecting a pass interference on that last play. Lots of hand battling going on while the ball was in the air but luckily all is good.
other than the refs and the dumbass play calling that costed us 14 pts, great game. Tis a great team to watch Chief Butch and the tarholes walk out of CF with a loss. GO TO HELL CAROLINA!!!!!!!!

It doesn't matter if he is outside the pocket if it doesn't go across the LOS. That is intentional grounding and I've seen us get flagged for less on running/roughing the kicker calls. 11/10/2007 5:48:39 PM |

Doc Watson makes my teeth itch, damnit. He is easily the dumbest motherfucker on the face of the planet. His commentary rarely says anything about the game, and when he does actually say something football related, he's always completely wrong.
For instance, on the long punt return for Blackman, his dumb ass kept saying "Man, look at how hard those carolina guys were hustlin!" or some dumb shit like that. The fact was, fucktard, that they WEREN'T hustling down the field after the punt, otherwise they wouldn't have been in position to make the tackle.
Then, a couple plays later on the Evans interception, that fucker kept talkin about how "pressure" forced the INT. Actually, dumbass, it was a bad pass that sailed over the intended receiver's head. There was hardly any pressure, and Evans just fucked up.
Jeez, that guy was fucking retarded. Could he make it ANY MORE OBVIOUS that he was pulling for UNC the whole game? The other announcer was blatant about it, too, but Doc fucking dumbass Walker was awful. I hate that guy 11/10/2007 6:11:47 PM |

i've been to hundreds of Wolfpack sporting events, and I can say that this was the most fun I've ever had.
OSU at the horseshoe was fun, the Minnesota bowl game was great, the Weinke pick-a-thon, the Duke bball game when they were #1, the sweep of UNC during the Doh years....those were all great. but this one takes it for me
THAT is how a rivalry game should be played. cold weather, insane crowd, big plays, big hits, drama down to the final play. everything a college football game should be. my romance with NCSU is alive and well 11/10/2007 6:12:59 PM |

This is an example of why we have horrible fans...I was reading through this thread after I got home from the game and wow. Shit happens in football, the first pick, I'd like to see a better view of it, it was at the other end of the field from me but it looked like Stone never looked up for the ball or it WAS just a really bad pass. The second one though, give me a break, hit our receiver in the hands, shit happens in football. I'd have to say that a lot of people who post in these threads have to be the most ignorant, knowing nothing about football, people I have ever read. It's a joke. 26-42 for 229 yards and a TD with two INTs (that happened to be pick 6) still is *not* a bad stat line, definitly not worth the criticsm some of you guys throw out there.
Be a fan and have some faith in your players and teams...
Other than that, student section was awesome and packed out today, loud, in red, jumping around...good show.

^he threw the first pick about 6 feet over Stone's head. The second pass was high, which is why it bounced up in the air when the receiver tried to catch it.
I take it you don't remember the countless sacks Evans took during the game by being run down from behind. He kept trying to force shit to happen even after he got outside of the tackles and could have safely thrown it away. As shitty as our punting game is, we don't need to compound the issue by giving up another 10 yards on 3rd and long. 11/10/2007 7:09:43 PM |

The receivers saved Evans ass countless times tonight. I bet the majority of his passes tonight were far from being on target but our people made plays when it counted. That first int was ugly. I'm not sure if it was a shitty throw or a miscommunication on the route. We cut in and evans threw it out. Evans' decision making isn't the best but I put a lot of it on Bible. In neither of those situations should we have been throwing when we are a) in field goal range and b) eugene was pounding the unc d-line in the ass.

There were only 4 sacks all game :-/
The only one I remember Evans getting ran down from behind was one where (from my angle) he rolled out to the right never saw the guy pursuing from the backside...you dont have a chance to throw every ball away and sometimes taking the sack is an OK thing to do. OLine didn't seem to show up in the second half like it did in the first. The zone blocking schem works great for our line and Eugene's running style...but the pass blocking still falls apart sometimes. It definitly wasn't Evan's best game and no one is saying he's an NFL QB but dang, the guy a little support...the second pick could have just as easily been a catch for a first down or a harmless incomplete pass (I do agree we should have ran, especially on that second one, a conservative run and take our 3 points would have been fine). But again, he's proven himself capable of winning games...has made a ton of improvement made some great hot reads on blitzes today and is the best we have right now so support him.11/10/2007 7:20:43 PM |

the guy he threw to was 3 or 4 yds short of a 1rst down and covered, it definitely could not have been a first down. the point is, dont force it in there. also, if you saw the replay, he just made a snap decision and tossed it, didnt step into the throw at all.11/10/2007 7:26:34 PM |

Lol, you can't give him any credit? Come on...26-42 for 229 yards a TD, one legit INT and another "shit happens in football" INT still isn't a bad game...he is playing QB and he did win, you have to give him some credit. Again I'm not saying he's great, NFL worthy, or a heisman trophy candidate. But he's been getting the job done.
And people are saying to bench him, that's why I posted in the first place...he's the best we have right now and supporting the guy instead of treating him like Tyler Hansbrough a drop of a dime is crap. He's our QB, the best we have and he has definitly had a part in getting us back to 5-5 and now looking to go to a bowl (a lot better than most expected to see this year).11/10/2007 7:34:05 PM |
