They must have had some firmware changes on the DVR box recently. I noticed a slight change in the look of it, but the biggest change is that the 3x fast forward is nowhere near as fast or smooth as it used to be. I just went into the 2Wire settings on the U-verse modem/router and it shows the max Mbps for wireless at 54, which my laptop upstairs is getting according to the connection status
I have a netgear wireless router with a max wireless speed of 300 Mbps that I'd like to use if I could, but I dont wanna fuck anything up w/ the residential gateway
i found these instructions but haven't looked through them thoroughly...

Unless you've changed some settings in your router, you can end up with Double NAT errors if you do that. I would try to follow the instructions you posted and ask for help here if you screw something up. It shouldn't be that hard to do if you just follow the instructions closely. 6/25/2011 9:11:56 PM |

While I am keeping my U-Verse Internet I have decided to switch to DirecTV because I think the picture for U-Verse is poo. I got DirecTV through AT&T so I can get a discount with internet. Hopefully AT&T will bill me the correct amount because my first bill is all F'ed up. 6/27/2011 1:19:26 PM |

If you are using a router other than the 2wire, check your dns settings, as it is unlikely you are dropping enough packets. But you can always check on the 2wire web interface what your packet loss rate happens to be. 7/11/2011 10:24:39 PM |

Do a ping test and see how many packets are dropped. If the answer is none, as I suspect, then go to network setting on your computer and change your dns server to the free one provided by google. I suspect your U-verse router is miss-configured or otherwise malfunctioning.

ping 127.0.0.1 gave me: 4 packets sent, 4 received, 0 lost

Just had UVerse finally call me back and tell me my new house in Bedford (NE Raleigh) cannot get service. I had never thought anything of it because I knew other people there had it. Called up TWC just to check prices and its atrocious. I'm hoping UVerse just made a mistake on everything but can't get through because their call center is slammed. AT&T is pissing me off. They're harrasing me to pay a bill... I don't even have an AT&T account; never have under my name. AT&T refuses to stop the calls. FCC and BBB notified.

When I run a traceroute, it fails within 4-5 hops on SBC/BellSouth servers. Uverse "customer service" refuses to do anything and wants "ConnectTech" to help me, who wants to sell me a service plan for $15/mo or $49/problem. They don't even want to change my IP--I thought since the site was working fine for me last week, they may have IP-banned me when I tried opening up multiple tabs at once(?)... If I know other Uverse people can get it, I'll demand the IP switch, and otherwise I'll just switch to Time-Warner for a while.

I've about had it with these ASS HATS. I got my TV service cancelled on June 27th. They charged me for service on the bill after. I called them and turns out they didn't REALLY cancel the TV service so they had to cancel it again and take the charge off my bill. This took me an hour and a half to complete. I must have gotten transfered 8-9 times over 2 total calls (once I got disconnected).
Got my new bill and TV service was still attached!!! I called them and they said to only pay the internet and the bill will eventually be correct. I highly doubt that. They also sent me a letter to return my TV equipment weeks after I had already sent it in. They will probably try to charge me for that too. Mark my words.
The only reason I'm sticking with them is the DirectTV + internet bundle discount which I have still yet to get. If you are looking for better customer service than TWC do not look here. 8/16/2011 1:55:37 PM |

my brother just moved to raleigh & signed up for u-verse. they said they can't install until the 30th. is this typical/reasonable? out here (RM) if you sign up for new service they're knocking on the door 2 seconds later to install it...
also he wants to know if he can just go pick up the box & what not to install it himself. he can't get through on the phone to a person w/o being put on hold for 2394726346 hours. bad sign, me thinks

this Uverse internet connection is getting flaky as hell
their routers suck ass, and now when I try to use my 300 Mbps router in conjunction w/ the 2Wire router, it won't work anymore
stuck using 2Wire and it keeps knocking out my wireless connection where I have to hit reconnect, then 5-10 min later it does the same, and unpluggin/replugging the router just doesnt do the trick 9/26/2011 5:00:12 PM |
