I wouldn't dismiss the 80 regular season games Felton played well over jsut because Jameer Nelson got hot for two games in the playoffs.

Nelson didnt do much in the regular season this year coming off an injury, but he was pretty freaking good the prior season so it's not like Felton was outplayed by a no name.

We're definitely going to miss Felton this season, Livingston is a health risk and has only been productive for 26 games in Washington last season over the past 3 years.

DJ Augustin is on his way out of the league if he continues to play like he did last year. I think he'll get better but thats also because I dont think he can possibly play any worse.

nelson is an all-star caliber point guard, and felton is a notch below, which isn't bad by any means, especially for a fledgling team like the bobcats. really can't believe they let him walk

^^ I don't know, maybe when the numbers support it?

Sure, you can have a few veteran teams like Boston this year who lay low all year and then go balls to the wall in the playoffs. But historically the regular season is a pretty damn good predictor of postseason success in the NBA.

So ARod is a terrible baseball player with his playoff history?

Felton wasn't great but he's better than what we're stuck with.

he might be better than what we're stuck with, but rally is obsessed with reulgar season stats, when the playoffs are an entirely different animal

he seems to think the game tempo and intensity of the playoffs can be predicted by the regular season, when thats absurdly off-base

You are just making things up now.

Statistically, the evidence does not support that players "step up" in the postseason.

It's a complete myth that people like you perpetuate for some unknown reason.

Just because you say it, doesn't make it true.

As bad as it looks, at least we got him for the minimum.

I'd rather see him out there than shitty Diop in all honesty too.

The question is now who gets cut to sign him? Probably Damp?

whats Kwame Brown's "Mendoza Line" stat?

I think its something about how he has always averaged more turnovers than rebounds + blocks or something?

Kwame is a pretty good pickup for the vet minimum.

He's gotten a lot of rest the last two years since detroit has had some deep frontcourts but his numbers adjsuted for minutes look decent other than his horrid ft shooting.

He was a solid contributor for the lakers for a few years and he's only 28 so I can't fault jordan here for taking a cheap stab since the nba will be paying almost half of the guy's contract for us.

if Kwame Brown were drafted #26 overall, no one would laugh at this signing.

"Erick Dampier free to sign with any team

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Unable to pull off a trade, the Bobcats have waived center Erick Dampier, which voids his $13 million contract and gets Charlotte under the luxury tax.

Tuesday's move comes a day after the Bobcats could have packaged Dampier's contract in a multiplayer deal. But the Bobcats found no takers in a deal that would have also given Charlotte its needed financial relief.

Getting rid of Dampier's unique contract gets Charlotte about $5 million below the $70.3 million luxury tax. A payroll figure above that trigger a dollar-for-dollar tax, something owner Michael Jordan has said the team wouldn't exceed.

Dampier will now be free to sign with any team."

yikes, so that trade was a total bust.

Only the Bobcats could get nothing but shitty contracts and bad players in return for a huge expiring deal with a guy who is still a starting center!

Unbelievable.

I don't think Dampier was the make-or-break piece to our season

If we dumped our season, it was probably by things such as allowing every other team in the East to add good players, while we didn't do shit

Dude chandler is still a starting center. On top of that his contract is expiring so its valuable.

In return we got two guys (najera and carroll) who no one wants who make medium sized money (~3-4 million per season) and a contract we waived.

We saved a little money this year but we take on more money next year. In the meantime we lose a starter who had no long term commitment. What sense does that make?

We let Felton walk coming off his best season and we replace him with a guy who had 20 good games in the last three years.

We're taking Miles who was a stud in like 2004 but hasnt been able to hang in the league since due to injuries...

We're taking Kwame Brown who couldnt get off the bench for a 20 win team...

We arent moving forward thats for sure

Devin Harris Charlotte bound?

Quote :
"Sources told ESPN.com that the deal, which has yet to be finalized, would send former All-Star point guard Devin Harris to Charlotte, with Bobcats forward Boris Diaw moving to Utah. The Bergen Record reported Friday afternoon that the Nets would also receive Bobcats guard D.J. Augustin, with New Jersey's Jarvis Hayes accompanying Harris to Charlotte in a sign-and-trade. "
