i lost by a point due to aaron rodgers running in his TD instead of throwing it

What do you guys think about this trade: Send: DeSean Jackson and Joseph AddaiReceive: MJD and Calvin JohnsonCurrent WRs(start 3): Roddy White, DeSean Jackson, Derrick Mason, Pierre Garcon, Mike Williams (TB), Santonio HolmesCurrent RBs(start 2): Rashard Mendenhall, Joseph Addai, Jonathon Stewart, Mike Tolbert, Clinton PortisOr I could try DeSean for MJD and then try to flip Addai for a diff. WR
9/28/2010 12:48:38 PM
i love that trade for youyou're upgrading at WR and at RB imo
9/28/2010 12:53:29 PM
^^looks like a good trade to meWith Dallas having the week off (miles austin is on my team), who should I play at WR? I've got Mike Wallace (had a big game on Sunday, but has been average besides that), Donald Driver (been starting him all year, plan to stick with him), Kevin Walter, Naanee, and Nate Washington. I think Driver and Wallace should start...not sure about my 3rd WR. And would you guys play Hightower or Beanie Wells at RB (my #1 is Chris Johnson)?[Edited on September 28, 2010 at 1:02 PM. Reason : gh]
9/28/2010 1:01:35 PM
do you get PPR?[Edited on September 28, 2010 at 1:59 PM. Reason : if so, I would go with Hightower][Edited on September 28, 2010 at 1:59 PM. Reason : and Walter for the fact that he gets TD/Redzone throws.]
9/28/2010 1:59:03 PM
^Yes... 0.5 PPR. I was leaning toward Walter (like you said), but I really don't know about Beanie/Hightower. At this point its a toss up for me.
9/28/2010 2:59:57 PM
based on this weekends game, I think you have to go with Beanie. It was his first game back and he outplayed Hightower. I figured Beanie wouldve had a game similar to Michael Bush in Oakland, where he got a few carries to get some live game action, but the "hot hand" (i.e. McFadden/Hightower) still got the majority of the work. This was the opposite, I have to think Beanie will continue to get more and more work going forward
9/28/2010 4:29:21 PM
^Kinda what I'm thinking too.
9/28/2010 4:46:36 PM
My team is lacking in the TE department and my friend wants to trade Tony Gonzalez for one of my RB's. I would also be trading him my TE, Heath Miller. Should I tradeBrandon JacksonCJ SpillerRonnie BrownI could probably also get MJD off of him if I throw in one of my WR's like A. Johnson or C. Johnson keep in mind this is an extremely competitive 14 player league so I'll have to pick up some dog shit RB to keep on bench to use during bye week.Current: [QB - Rivers; WR - A. Johnson, C. Johnson, T. Owens, D. Henderson, VJax (longshot, I know)Edit: I just offered T.O, C.J Spiller and Heath Miller for Tony and MJD lol we'll see if he bites[Edited on September 28, 2010 at 6:19 PM. Reason : lulz]
9/28/2010 6:08:23 PM
^Why don't you just pick up Hernandez from the Patriots or the rookie from KC? Both are pretty good tight end options if they're available. What do you guys think of picking up BenJarvus Green-Ellis this week through waivers? I'm currently #2 on my waivers and I really need a RB2 (my RBs are extremely weak). From everything I read it sounds like he could be the man in New England.[Edited on September 28, 2010 at 7:02 PM. Reason : .]
9/28/2010 6:59:49 PM
^^I think Miller will be a fine option once Big Ben gets back, although the Steelers do have a bye in week 5, so you'd at least need a plug-and-play TE for that weekI think giving up Miller and any of those backs is kind of a stretch for Gonzo...he is solid, but he is also old
9/28/2010 7:04:46 PM
^, ^^thanks but yeah those TE's are already taken...I could get Olsen or Heap..or one of the DE guys (don't know why there's two) they are the highest *projected* guys left...Heath should get tons more looks though with Big Ben's return, I agree.
9/28/2010 8:05:16 PM
I'm trying to figure out who to start in my 2 RBs and 1 Flex spots this week. Here's my options:LeSean McCoy vs SkinsMichael Turner vs 49ersPeyton Hillis vs BengalsAhmad Bradshaw vs Da BearsJustin Forsett vs RamsVince Young (Flex spot) vs BroncosI'm thinking Turner, McCoy and maybe Hillis? I hate not to start a QB in my flex spot but VY is my only other QB that doesn't have a bye week this week and he's been pretty lackluster. I think Hillis is a safer choice but what do you think TWW?
9/28/2010 8:24:26 PM
^I say those are your three best options.Any thoughts about my above post about BenJarvus Green-Ellis as a good waiver wire pickup?
9/28/2010 8:28:21 PM
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^I see what you did there.
9/28/2010 8:35:02 PM
In my ESPN league I've got Orton and Flacco. Started Orton all 3 weeks so far and he's been good. Flacco has been pretty bad up until this past week. Should I stick with Orton (@Tenn) or go with Flacco this week (@Pitt)? Both opponents have good defense.
9/28/2010 8:39:35 PM
9/28/2010 8:45:33 PM
I think I will drop shonn greene outright. He is pissing me off. How the hell do you not win the starting job from someone a decade older than you
9/28/2010 9:21:58 PM
^I'm in the same boat. Although I don't really see anybody that I wanna pick up right now either. I keep telling myself LT will fall apart eventually, just gotta hold out.I was just offered a pretty interesting trade:I Get: Calvin Johnson & Clinton PortisI Give: Percy Harvin & Ahmad BradshawMy WRs: Andre Johnson, Percy Harvin, Brandon Lloyd, Mike Williams (Seattle)My RBs: LeSean McCoy, Michael Turner, Ahmad Bradshaw, Peyton Hillis, Shonn Greene, Justin ForsettBasically I (think) I get a WR upgrade but I lose my 3rd RB. If Turner goes down (which is likely) I'll have to start Hillis (who may start in my Flex spot anyway the way he's been playing)
9/28/2010 10:17:52 PM
^tough call...seems fair on the surfaceI have a trade question of my own...to me, it sounds to good to be true, but I would like a 3rd party opinionI give up:Pittsburgh DefenseLadainian TomlinsonI get:New York Jets DefenseAntonio GatesMy current RBs are Chris Johnson, Arian Foster, Brandon Jackson, Justin Forsett and Dexter McCluster (and LT)...my only TE is Celek, so that would be a huge upgrade for me at that positionOther guy is a Steelers homer, and he has Chris Cooley on his bench. His RBs are Deangelo, Jahvid Best, Ryan Matthews, Thomas Jones and Beanie Wellstell me why this isn't as good a deal as I think it is...or tell me to quit fucking around and make it happen
9/28/2010 10:29:03 PM
I went ahead and pulled the trigger...I like my new lineup...this week its:QB: BradyWR: MarshallWR: BoldinRB: CJRB: ArianTE: GatesW/R: Forsett
9/28/2010 11:04:55 PM
should I drop jon stewart for peyton hills? it'll be my backup rb spot
9/28/2010 11:07:30 PM
what other RBs do you have
9/28/2010 11:08:09 PM
.5 PPR League- Better RB from here on out, Pierre Thomas or Ahmad Bradshaw?- Better WR from here on out, Miles Austin or Malcom Floyd?I think Bradshaw & Austin have worse end of season matchups, but Floyd's numbers the past 2 weeks may have been inflated by playing a pair of weak Pass DsI'm asking b/c I'm trying to put together an offer for Peterson (other guy needs a WR). Would also be sending Witten in the trade. Would Austin, Bradshaw & Witten be too much for Peterson in a PPR league? Also have Chris Johnson & Roddy White, so looking at sacrificing depth for a pretty solid RB/WR combo of CJ, AP, Roddy & whichever 2 of the above guys I don't trade
9/29/2010 1:50:00 AM
^^^It's tough... Stewart is an on and off producer. When you have a team with 2 running backs with the quality of Carolina, it is tough to say who will have better games... it was like the NYG or Balt decisions last year. I, personally, think Hillis is gonna be the sole producer at RB for Cle from now on, unless they start actually opening up their wildcat package with cribbs. Then again, it is the browns, so running opportunites might be limited due to falling behind early. I think it would be an OK move, but if you could keep both and play on matchups, then that might be a good idea (maybe drop a crap receiver or something)^I'd try to keep austin if I could... as for Thomas or Bradshaw, I like Thomas better, but that is just gut feeling
9/29/2010 9:51:07 AM
Standard ESPN scoring league: I need 2 RB and 2 WR with one flex. I can't decide who my flex should be this week:WR: I have Roddy White and Andre Johnson starting with Austin Collie on the bench.RB: I have the choice between Forte, DeAngelo Williams, and Ronnie Brown. ESPN has all 3 RB's projected to do well this week, but the Panthers are the most pathetic team I've seen all year. What do you guys think?
9/29/2010 10:22:31 AM
At my WR/RB position (no PPR)...Kevin Walter, Hakeem Nicks, Mario Manningham, or Hester....FWIW, I also have Moreno, who I'd likely start if he were cleared to play but he's got that hammy issue, so I don't knowAnd at my QB position...Flacco (@Pit) or Orton (@Tenn)? Both very tough opponents.ETA: gonna have an open spot on my roster...should I pick up Hester, John Kuhn (GB RB...on Monday it looked like he got a lot of the carried and Jackson was used more in the passing game)[Edited on September 29, 2010 at 11:11 AM. Reason : kk]
9/29/2010 11:07:42 AM
^^for that one, watch what the injuries are gonna look likeI suggested collie last week because gonzalez and garcon were both banged up and not playing, and wayne was gonna be covered up by champ, so Collie was gonna be both the deep threat, and mix up b/w clark and brown/addai... if those guys are still banged up, then you might still be able to look for something this week. As for worrying about deangelo, he will produce (I'm predicting at least one TD this week)... they are in the same situation they were in last year where they feel more comfortable with the ball on the ground, being not sure about the qb situation. ^I'm not buying the whole Khun hype, and I'd only pick up hester if there are return yards. Otherwise I'd probably go with one of the giant receivers (depending on how you think the bears will be at shutting down either one). I mean, I like walter, and they will have Johnson shut down by Asomugha, so walter might not be a bad choice ... reciever choices are always the hardest. As for the qb, honestly I feel like the titans have a better pass defense, but you can't deny anything against the steers defense. I'd probably go with flacco, but like you said- tough choice
9/29/2010 1:39:47 PM
Alright, my backup QB situation is not good... should I drop Favre and pick up Sanchez?
9/29/2010 2:49:28 PM
who is your starter?if he is good enough, then you shouldn't need a backup right now (unless you have romo or, for some reason, cassel or freeman)
9/29/2010 3:24:47 PM
well Favre was my starter and Derek Anderson my backup (awesome combo I know). I dropped Anderson and now have Kyle Orton as my starter.
9/29/2010 3:26:14 PM
^I have Favre, Vince Young and Sanchez. I keep telling myself the Vikings will get it together during the bye week and hopefully be more in sync for the rest of the season, especially when Rice comes back. I'm hanging on to him for a little longer but I don't really have any evidence to point to in order to prove that theory
9/29/2010 3:40:25 PM
Honestly I don't see why people are still holding hope on Favre. He had a great year last year but that was somewhat unexpected. Now he's a year older and had a horrible line against the fucking Detroit Lions after 2 other shitty games. I don't see any catalyst to make him better tomorrow.
9/29/2010 3:57:40 PM
Chris Ivory may need to be picked up with P Thomas not practicing. Deep leagues of course, but it's always a possibility the guy will get the bulk share this weekend or in the future.
9/29/2010 4:28:43 PM
schaub or vick?feels like a wash.
9/29/2010 4:30:00 PM
I am leaning towards dropping Favre, especially with the Minnesota bye week this week. If Sanchez plays amazing, then I am going to have to battle for him on waivers as he will likely be picked up. Favre is inactive, so if Sanchez sucks or gets hurt I SHOULD be able to pick Favre right back up.
9/29/2010 4:35:16 PM
^^I like vick there... I feel like it will be an all out air show there, and Oakland has arguably the best cover man in the league (I know Asomugha doesn't have the Revis name, but he is nasty), which will take away sir Andre. I feel like that game is gonna be an Arian nation vs RunDMC ground pound (granted, shaub will have some numbers, but I think vick is primed to have a better game)^what other qb's are on waivers? how deep is your league? could you get a freeman/hasselback/etc[Edited on September 29, 2010 at 4:39 PM. Reason : dverve]
9/29/2010 4:38:24 PM
QB's available are Sanchez, Hasselbeck, Freeman, Bradford and Alex Smith. 12 man league with 1 QB spot and 6 bench spots.
9/29/2010 4:44:23 PM
Was offered Ochocinco for Harvin/Ward....my other WR's are Smith (car), Moss, Breaston, and Murphy...is it worth the risk?
9/29/2010 6:20:36 PM
Offered Vick for Andre. Hoping that Mike's semi-inflated fantasy value plus AJ's injury scare will put it through.
9/29/2010 6:36:09 PM
I need to pick a QB for just this week:Henne vs Pats (MNF)Hasselbeck @ RamsGradkowski vs TexansAll 3 of those pass D's are atrocious. Which waiver wire QB is the best play?
9/29/2010 6:43:16 PM
^Sea hasn't been that bad lately. But the Rams pass D didnt look all that bad against McNugget this past wkend. Henne and BMar getting into a nice rhythm. Def not BGrad.
9/29/2010 6:49:12 PM
lay off the nicknames dude
9/29/2010 6:50:15 PM
You guys like JKas, SGra, DAke, or MPra at kicker this week?
9/29/2010 6:52:34 PM
Texans pass D has been the worst in the league by far. I think Gradkowski could have a big day against them at home in a shootout.I worry that Miami goes back to their run 1st, run 2nd attack against the Pats.
9/29/2010 7:36:12 PM
9/30/2010 7:50:47 AM
For Andre owners, looks like he's gonna be a game time decision this week. Get your backups ready just in case.
9/30/2010 10:04:17 AM
^^ I hope you're wrong about MIA this week bc I'm almost certain I'm starting Henne vs NE instead of Flacco vs PIT. PIT's def is just looking scary good so far and Henne looked a lot better last week.
9/30/2010 11:32:28 AM
ok tell me if you think i should trade thisI get Brandon Tate and Maroneyhe getsD. McFaddenI have Mccoy, Best and AP.I also have Reggie Wayne, Donald Driver and Dez Bryant as my WRs of note.should I? PPR league.
9/30/2010 3:32:07 PM
WTF?No.McFadden is the 2-4th highest scoring RB in fantasy right now depending on your scoring settings. If you want to trade him, trade him...but don't give him up for some BS like that. SELL HIGH, my friend. SELL HIGH!
